| Former REO Speedwagon Guitarist Gary Richrath Has Died |

Gary Richrath, best known as the lead guitarist for the classic rock band REO Speedwagon, died on Sunday. He was 65. The news was announced by REO frontman Kevin Cronin on the band’s Facebook page. No cause of death has been revealed at this time. REO Speedwagon formed in 1967 with Richrath joining in 1970, the year prior to the release of the band’s self-titled debut album. Hailing from East Peoria, IL, the guitarist would continue with the group through 1989, penning many tracks throughout his career with them, such as rock classics “Ridin’ the Storm Out” and “Take It on the Run,” the latter of which made it into the top 5 on the music charts. He also appeared on REO’s 1980 breakout commercial album Hi Infidelity, which included the chart-topping rock ballad “Keep On Loving You,” and 1984’s Wheels Are Turnin’, which contained another power ballad hit, “Can’t Fight This Feeling.”

I was 6 years old. My parents were in the living room, and I snuck into their bedroom (where the only other TV was) to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors on Channel 11’s “movie of the week.” I met Freddy Krueger, and I was hooked forever. At 33, I am a horror fanatic and gorehound, and I owe it all to Wes Craven and his most intimidating creation. Tonight, with a tear in my eye, I’m writing that Wes Craven, one of the pillars of the horror film world for over 40 years, has passed away from brain cancer, according to Deadline. He was 76. | “Rowdy” Roddy Piper Has Died At The Age of 61 |

For the better part of the last 40 years, Roderick George Toombs was known to the world as “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, the bombastic, loudmouth, straight shooting, dastardly, wrestler, and movie star. Nicknamed the Hot Rod, Piper was at times as big a star as Hulk Hogan, and is beloved by cult movie watchers for his turn in John Carpenter’s sci-fi classic They Live. The WWE hall-of-famer died in his sleep at his Hollywood home on Thursday from cardiac arrest, and was found on Friday.

| After The Burial Guitarist Justin Lowe Dies At Age 32
Extremely sad news to report out of Wisconsin where the body of troubled former After The Burial guitarist Justin Lowe was found dead on Tuesday by a hiker beneath the Arcola High Bridge near Somerset. All signs point to Lowe having committed suicide. Authorities are saying that his injuries are consistent with a fall. Lowe had been suffering from paranoid delusions and had announced his split from After the Burial last month via a highly publicized paranoid rant on his Facebook page:

| Chris Squire, Bassist and Co-Founder of Yes, Dies
Chris Squire, the bassist and co-founder of prog-rock giants Yes, died today in Phoenix, Arizona, after battling a rare form of leukemia, according a post on the band’s official Facebook page. He was 67. Born in Kingsbury, England, on March 4, 1948, Squire was suffering from acute erythroid leukemia. Last month, Yes revealed Squire’s diagnosis, adding that he would have to take a break from touring with the group and that former member Billy Sherwood (with whom Squire had recorded and performed) was stepping in for their co-headlining 2015 North American tour with Toto. This was to be the first time Squire would not be a part of the Yes live line-up.
