| ‘Full Metal Jacket’ Actor R. Lee Ermey Has Died |

Full Metal Jacket star R. Lee Ermey died at a Santa Monica, CA, hospital on Sunday from complications from pneumonia. He was 74. The Kansas-born actor was best known for his Golden Globe-nominated role as Gunnery Sgt. Hartman in Stanley Kubrick’s 1987 Academy Award-nominated Vietnam film. A real-life decorated military veteran, Ermey (born Ronald Lee Ermey) served 11 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent over a year in Vietnam rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He turned to acting in the late 1970s and passed away with over 120 credits on IMDb, including acclaimed film roles, as well as appearances on television, video games, and voice-acting credits.

Le Guin, renowned author of The Earthsea Cycle series and literally scores of other works like The Left Hand Of Darkness, has shuffled off this mortal coil. She died on Monday at her home in Portland, OR, according to the New York Times. She was 88. While no cause of death was given, her recent failing health was no secret, though this news still comes as a shock to the literary world. She wrote often about magic, balance, and always layered in a sense of compassion to her works.

| AC/DC Guitarist and Co-Founder Malcolm Young Has Died
AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young, who with his brother Angus Young co-founded the legendary hard rock band, has died, according to a statement released by the band on their official Facebook page. He was 64. The statement did not reveal a cause of death, but the musician had been suffering from dementia, which had officially forced his retirement from the band in 2014. After his departure, his nephew Stevie Young took his place in the group.
