Last week on Outlander, Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) named Jamie (Sam Heughan) her heir, but Claire (Caitriona Balfe) had a problem owning slaves to the detriment of their own lives. Predictably, a white man in the wrong caused a slave to touch him and now wanted the slave to die by hanging the slave via meat hook. Claire begged Jamie, as the man of the house, to save the slave. Jamie did and Claire performed surgery on him in the house. All of the plantation owners demanded the head of the slave or threatened to burn down the house. In an impossible situation, Claire allowed the slave to die with dignity.

Released October 23, 2018 Blessed are the Children is the kind of horror film that can and likely will offend someone in 2018. Despite that… or maybe in spite of that, it feels right at home amongst the popular 70s and 80s slashers it gleefully pays homage to. Co-writer and director Chris Moore stretches the film’s low budget to its extremes and ends up with a film with shockingly good gore effects, that tackles a taboo subject in a way only a horror film could.

Young Ezekial (EZ) Reyes (JD Pardo) is a prospect with a brother in the club, a butcher father (not of humans) who is sucked in somehow, a son and an ex who are now the family of a cartel leader, and a detective to whom he slips info to. This kid is in all kinds of trouble. And not because he’s in an MC, where everyone shoots up rivals or that they sell drugs through a dress shop front. Excited yet? Warning!
