Drones. They’re EVERYWHERE. At CES 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, you can head over to the drone area of South Hall in Tech East and be awash in the whir of electric quadrocopters. These things have 4K cameras with incredible zoom lenses and can be found in varieties from whisper quiet, all the way to crazy loud. They’re awesome, but at least one company understands that the runaway, or rather flyaway, technology of the past few years presents some potential security risks.

Toyota is finally connecting with reality. What could be Japan’s most venerable automaker has decided to walk away from their earlier dreams of a hydrogen future. Instead, they’re newly focused on adding battery electric options to their line up of Toyota and Lexus luxury lines. It sounds like the sort of thing we hear from all sorts of automakers these days – “we’re going electric!” – but make no mistake, this announcement out of CES 2018 is far more significant.

| CES 2018: Samsung’s HomeHub Fridge Knows Who You Are (Video) |

As if the connected world wasn’t already suffering from enough information overload, Samsung has doubled-down with their smart HomeHub fridge, an appliance with an interactive touch screen larger than a standard iPad on display at CES 2018. Wait a minute. They’re not doubling down. What’s the descriptor for the number 14? That’s right, they’re launching not two or five versions of their HomeHub fridge, but they’re launching 14. The idea here is that by 2020, Samsung wants all of its appliances to be not only IoT ready, but smart – and that’s where the title of this post comes in. | Could Apple Buy Netflix? Citi Analyst Say It’s Possible |

Last month, Disney bought Fox after weeks of rumors. They also announced a few months prior to tha that they would not be extending their deal with Netflix, and would instead launch their own streaming service. But that was 2017. This is 2018. And guess what, there could be another deal that could affect the way you watch your shows. Don’t worry, Disney isn’t making another major acquisition. At least not yet. No, reports are saying that Apple is expressing interest in making a deal to buy Netflix. More on the story below.
