Last week’s episode of AMC’s Preacher rubbed a few people the wrong way. The Catholic League condemned the show, and even former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin voiced her anger on Twitter. I guess an elongated sex scene involving Jesus Christ will do that”¦ but let’s face it, if that’s the first time they’ve had an issue with Preacher, they haven’t been watching close enough. Jesse (Dominic Cooper) is taken to meet the Messiah by Herr Starr (Pip Torrens), leader of The Grail. The Messiah, however, leaves a lot to be desire, made obvious when he giggle pees on Jesse. Starr has an interesting offer for Jesse, but Jesse has other problems. Tulip (Ruth Negga) and her new bestie Jenny are bonding and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) is learning to on the fly to be a dad to newly formed senior citizen vampire. The biggest problem, however, is that Tulip found the Saint’s (Graham McTavish) weapons that Jesse hid from her, after promising to destroy them and send him to Hell.

When I was growing up in the mid to late 1980s, few people were as cool as David Hasselhoff. He was Michael Knight, a crimefighter with a talking robotic Pontiac Trans Am in Knight Rider. Then he was Mitch Buchannon, the head lifeguard on Baywatch, a show that defined a generation thanks in part to slow-running gorgeous lifeguards in red one-piece bathing suits. A musical icon in Germany, to younger readers, “The Hoff” is probably best known for his supporting roles in the Sharknado franchise and his cameo in this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Debuting today on DVD and Digital HD, he stars in perhaps his greatest role as”¦ himself, in the comedy Killing Hasselhoff.

Like a lot of Walt Disney animated films, The Lion King has stood the test of time in its own way. The celebrated piece is a powerful film that has beautiful animation, resonating themes, catchy songs, and plenty of charm to boot. It’s no wonder that it is among our favorite films. Now, The Lion King gets, yet another, re-release in “The Circle Of Life” edition as part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection. Like many of these re-releases, this one is chock full of bonus extras that will have fans fall in love once more and introduce this lovely film to a new generation who may have never seen it before.
