Gravity Mondo Poster By Kevin Tong Preview

Given all the hype and marketing going into Alfonso Cuarón‘s Gravity, I was genuinely surprised to see that Mondo didn’t release a poster for the box office smash film near the release date. Well, consider that rectified as the company has put out a full preview of the poster that is due out for release at a random time tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5.

Unlike most Mondo posters that come in two different sets, one regular and the other variant, there will only be one edition of this poster. The poster is priced at $45 and will have an edition of 375. It is sized at 24″x 36″. Hit the jump to see the poster and a small video of how it was made.

Movie Review: Gravity Poster

Gravity
Director: Alfonso Cuarón
Writers: Alfonso Cuarón, Jonás Cuarón
Cast: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Ed Harris
Warner Bros. Pictures
Rated PG-13 | 90 Minutes
Release Date: October 4, 2013

Life in space is impossible.

Directed by Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men), Gravity stars Sandra Bullock as Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer on her first Space Shuttle mission. She is accompanied by Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney), a veteran astronaut on his final space voyage.

While performing maintenance on the Hubble Space Telescope, disaster strikes. The destruction of a Russian Spy satellite in Earth’s orbit has created a debris storm that is rapidly approaching the Space Shuttle Explorer. Mission Control (Ed Harris) urges the astronauts to complete their work and return to the craft, but it’s too late.

A hail of space junk crashes into Explorer, sending Dr. Stone and Kowalsky spiraling, untethered, into the vastness of outer space. With a dwindling supply of oxygen and no means of communication with Earth, the astronauts venture further out into the infinite to make contact with a habitable Chinese satellite.

Gravity Header

If you weren’t already convinced by the Venice Film Festival reaction, James Cameron’s thoughts, or any of the previous footage, then here is one more trailer that proves Alfonso Cuaron‘s Gravity is not to be missed. While we have seen what happens to the doomed space shuttle, this new trailer offers a little character exposition, with a particular focus on Sandra Bullock‘s Dr. Ryan Stone character.

I really can’t help myself watching any of the previous trailers or clips because once is not enough. But with the film clocking in at 91 minutes, I wonder how much intense footage is actually left to enjoy. Regardless, this film will be one huge thrill ride that is filled with Cuaron’s signature long one-shot takes. Hit the jump to see the new trailer.

Gravity Header

Alfonso Cuaron‘s Gravity is certainly living up to its hype. After a couple of trailers, a San Diego Comic-Con panel, and its debut at the Venice Film Festival, there is a growing amount of Oscar Buzz circling this film. Those who have seen the film at the festival, which was held late last month, have given the film plenty of praise, but James Cameron has chimed in to give some praise of this own.

Coming from a guy who has directed a couple of space dramas of his own and the top two biggest box office movies of all time, all this praise can only generate more praise and perhaps fuel its potential for Oscars even further. Hit the jump to see what Cameron said about the film and one of its stars, Sandra Bullock, who also talks about the movie.

Gravity Header

After what we saw at Comic-Con this past weekend, Alfonso Cuarón‘s Gravity promises to be one of the greatest space age thrill rides that comes with a series of one-shot takes. We recently saw a trailer titled “Detatch” that saw one of the character’s (Sandra Bullock) desperately trying to remove a harness before she can be thrust into the edge of space. While the clip did end on a cliffhanger, Warner Brothers has released two more clips that will surely make tensions rise.

Generally, I refrain from posting clips. But the movie looks so good, and there is positive buzz surrounding this film like some crazed whirling dervish, that I couldn’t help but post these clips. So if you want to go into this movie with a fresh pair of eyes, then do not click ahead. But if you want to feel the same fear that you felt when you saw the most recent trailer, then go right on ahead and hit the jump.
