The opening ten minutes of Sunday night’s premiere was just awesome, combining all the elements that Preacher fans have come to expect; quick witted dialogue, hellacious and gory violence, and screwball comedy. Jesse (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are on the road searching for God. Meanwhile the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) is searching for them, and he’s leaving no stone unturned. The trio ended up in a fleabag motel and in a touching moment, Jesse literally broke down the door for Tulip. But alas, you can’t relax for long when you’re being stalked by a cowboy from Hell. WARNING: Spoilers for Episode 2.2 of Preacher….

Air date: Sunday, June 25th, 2017, 9pm Finally! Preacher returns to AMC for Season 2 and Preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are, as the title suggest, “on the road.” Last season, Jesse was possessed by Genesis, an all powerful half-godly/half-demonic force. It’s so powerful that angels from Heaven came looking for him and it, and they’re hilariously unsuccessful at retrieving it. Jesse feeling revitalized by the power of Genesis tries to save his small Texas town of Annville and bring them the voice of God himself, except for one problem: God is missing. Annville finds this out full force when a methane gas explosion wipes out everyone in the town except for three who happen to be eating at a roadside diner on the outskirt of town”¦ you guessed who. The search for God begins”¦ NOW.

Preacher was one of my favorite new shows in 2016, and this Sunday, summer gets started with the second season premiere. Based on the graphic novels by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and created for television by Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a small town preacher from Annville, Texas. Jesse has a dark past he’s trying to leave behind, and that becomes harder when a trio of factors interfere in his life simultaneously. His ex-lover and partner Tulip (Ruth Negga) returns to get him back. A crazy drunken Irish vampire, Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), ends up in his town and becomes his best friend. Oh yeah, and he’s possessed by Genesis, a powerful force that is bred from an angel and demon getting it on. These things plus renegade angels, loads of cops, and the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish), a literal cowboy from Hell, are what stand in Jesse’s way as we enter season 2. Watch the videos below.

Air date: Sunday, July 31, 2016, 9pm It has come to this. The season finale of Preacher sees the culmination of the most outrageous guarantee a man of the cloth has ever offered his flock”¦ God is coming to Annville. Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) is a desperate man. He is inhabited by a half demon, half angel force called Genesis that at the same time reinvigorated his faith and has lead to a spectacular downfall. He is currently on the run from Sheriff Root (W. Earl Brown) after casting the sheriff’s “freak” son Eugene to Hell. If God doesn’t show up to church tonight, then he loses it all to the psychotic meatpacking magnate Odin Quincannon (Jackie Earle Haley) while being forced to denounce God publically. Oh yeah, unbeknownst to Jesse, there is a literal Cowboy from Hell (Graham McTavish) out to kill him. It’s gonna be a crazy Sunday in Annville. Spoilers below if you have not seen the Season Finale of Preacher…

AMC
Air date: Sunday, July 24, 2016, 9pm Last week on Preacher, Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) was challenged by those nearest and dearest. After he lost his temper and accidentally sent Eugene (Ian Colletti) to Hell, both Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) and Tulip (Ruth Negga) tried to reach him in different ways. Usually the fight loving drunkard, Cassidy was calm, rational and for his part, a good friend. In order to convince Jesse to give up Genesis, the force inside him, he revealed the truth about himself. He removed his clothes outside and burst into flames. When Tulip questioned him, Jesse was disgusted that she knew Cass was a vampire and sent her away. Suddenly low on friends, Jesse was in for a fight. Odin Quincannon (Jackie Earle Haley), the psychotic head of Quincannon Meat & Packing is gunning for Jesse’s church land. See, Jesse bet his father’s land to Odin if he couldn’t get him to accept God. Despite leaving church a convert, Quincannon was not long for the lord, and quickly committed a mass shooting of his rival business competition. Now he is back to claim the land he feels was verbally dealt to him. Spoilers below for this week’s Preacher.
