| Marvel Announces Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Inhumans, Civil War, 2-Part Avengers 3, and More
Marvel Studios held an event today at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles to make some stunning announcements revolving around their Phase Three film release slate, the details of which have mostly been the subject of rumor and conjecture until now. Studio president Kevin Feige hosted the event (with some surprise guests) and later held court at a press-only Q&A following the announcements. Movies/release dates that were announced or confirmed include Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther (including who will play the title role), Captain Marvel, Inhumans, and a two-part Avengers titled Avengers: Infinity War. | Robert Downey Jr. Joins ‘Captain America 3’ For Rumored ‘Civil War’ Storyline
When Robert Downey Jr.‘s contract with Marvel was redone, it only entailed him to be in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and one other Avengers films. But curiosity started to arise when RDJ began talking Iron Man 4 during his The Judge press tour. While it was confirmed that there was no Iron Man 4 was in the works, many were wondering why the actor was pushing Marvel Studios during a movie press tour that had no Marvel connections. He did mention that Marvel had one huge announcement to make, and this would certainly qualify as a huge announcement. Variety reports that Tony Stark will be joining Captain America 3. While the news of the casting is confirmed, it has started a rumor that Stark’s involvement could mean that the MCU would be headed towards the Civil War storyline instead of Infinity Gauntlet. | It’ll Be Three Years Before We See ‘Avengers 3’ Says Kevin Feige |

There will be a long lull of Marvel Studios’ films between Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron. In between that lull we could expect to see trailers and clips for the latter film. So while some of us are waiting for the highly anticipated Avengers sequel to hit theaters next May, others are thinking beyond that date. In addition to Age of Ultron, we will also see Ant-Man opening in July of next year, which will be followed up by Captain America 3 on May 6, 2016; followed by an untitled film; followed by another untitled film on May 5, 2017; then the release of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on July 17, 2017, and another mystery release in November 2017. Marvel has carefully coordinated their plan of attack by releasing up to two to three films a year. But it is 2018 we should all be watching out for. 2012 marked the release of The Avengers, and it’ll be three years since its release when Age of Ultron hits theaters next year.
