New Game Mode for ‘Battlefield Bad Company 2’

Looking for a new addition to Battlefield Bad Company 2? Well you’re in luck, because coming out tomorrow is the addition of Onslaught mode, Battlefield’s version of Gears of War 2’s Horde mode, or Fire Fight in Halo 3: ODST. The big difference? Those games came with that mode FOR FREE. If you want it for BFBC2, you’ll have to shell out 10 bucks, or 800 Microsoft Points, if that’s how you roll. I think it’s kind of silly to have people pay for a game mode that has become a staple of the shooting genre.
Also coming out tomorrow for Playstation 3, already out for Xbox, is something they are calling “Kit Shortcuts.†Basically if you don’t want to actually play the game to level up, but want all the best guns you can just pay $6.99 for one (560 MS points) or $19.99 (1600 MS points) for all of them. Kind of confused by the point of this one as well, isn’t part of the fun of playing the actual leveling up? I mean, I know it sucks when everyone else has better guns, but just deal with it until you level up as well.

Game Review: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Xbox 360)

 Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Platform: Xbox 360
Developer: EA Digital Illusions CE
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Release Date: March 2, 2010
When it comes to console online first person shooters, most people fall into two camps. You have your diehard Call of Duty fans (Modern Warfare in particular) and you have your Battlefield fans (let’s ignore the Halo fanboys for the sake of argument).
Ever since the launch of the Xbox 360 I’ve been in the Call of Duty camp. Call of Duty 2 was a launch title and it ushered me into this current generation of consoles with an engaging experience that made me fall in love with the franchise. With the introduction of modern weapons in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare I fell even deeper in love. COD4 became the measuring stick of quality for all other first person shooters in this generation for me. When the first Battlefield: Bad Company was released I was eager to give it a shot but it ultimately fell short of my Call of Duty standards. So I was curious to see what changes would be made in the sequel and if those changes could get me to put down the Modern Warfare and enter the Battlefield.
The biggest change to the sequel is the implementation of destructible environments. No longer are you safe behind a wall or standing next to a barrier. Grenades, bullets and bombs will shred through the environments like paper rendering any type of cover system useless. This totally changes how you have to approach firefights in both multiplayer and single player campaigns.

First Look At ‘Battlefield: Bad Company 2’ VIP Map Pack 2
|

Listen up Battlefield fans!
The second map pack for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is available to download for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC right now!
The map pack is available with the VIP code which is included in every new copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Players that do not have a code can purchase one via the in-game store ($15), PC players will get the content as a game update.
It’s worth noting that the map pack doesn’t actually include any maps. Instead, it unlocks the Conquest Mode in Arica Harbor and Rush Mode in Laguna Presa. Hard to complain since it’s essentially new gameplay for free (unless you aren’t a VIP, of course).
The DLC was released today.
Wanna see the new maps in action? Check out the trailer below.
