Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice 2 hasn’t yet been greenlighted by anyone, and while some may be intrigued by the prospect (I won’t lie, I’m pretty curious) many folks probably don’t ever want to see it happen.

Nevertheless, those involved with the movie seem to be high on the idea of doing a follow-up. Back in June of 2010, it was revealed that both Geena Davis and Michael Keaton would be happy to return to the roles they played in the 1988 original, and now the man behind said original, Tim Burton, is also talking about the possibility of seeing a sequel happen.

Community

I think it’s safe to say that NBC’s Community is an awesome show and is definitely one of the best sitcoms to come out in recent years, which makes the fact that the network yanked the show from its Winter 2012 so disappointing.

While there’s already tons to love about the series, now there’s one more reason: The showrunners managed to slip the name “Beetlejuice” into three episodes and we all know what happens when you say “Beetlejuice” three times, right?

Watch the video here below to see what happened on Community.

With the film now nearing its 24th anniversary, Tim Burton‘s beloved Beetlejuice is apparently looking to get a new entry.

Deadline is reporting that both David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith (author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) have been tapped by WB to pen a sequel to the film, which originally starred Michael Keaton as the titular lead. The original movie also starred Alec Baldwin and Winona Ryder, but to calm fears, the outlet also reports that this new installment will not be a remake, but instead, a reboot “by advancing the storyline of the original.”

Bio-Exorcist Beetlejuice shirt

The t-shirt deal of the day over at RIPT Apparel is a Beetlejuice-inspired shirt called “Bio-Exorcist.”

The tee, by artist Andy Hunt, went on sale at RIPT today, Sunday, January 30, 2011, at midnight CST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore.

The design is based on Tim Burton’s film Beetlejuice and the Betelgeuse character, a “bio-exorcist” who can be summoned by saying his name three times (hence why the name is listed three times along with the 24-hour toll-free service number).

If you haven’t come to terms with the fact that sequels and remakes are just a normal, everyday part of the Hollywood machine, then you better get used to it quickly. The sooner you do, the sooner you can enjoy the prospect of a movie like Beetlejuice II happening, instead of immediately scorning the very thought.

Before you starting heating up with rage, no, no there’s not a sequel to Tim Burton‘s fantastic 1988 horror-comedy on the way…yet. This is simply a hypothetical question ignited by some interesting quotes excavated by Moviehole over the past couple months.
