| Holiday Gift Guide 2024: Dungeons & Dragons |
|
Hey there, folks! Welcome to another year of our Dungeons & Dragons Gift Guide! But wait, it is not just any other year; this is D&D’s 50th Anniversary year! Half a century of what is arguably the greatest tabletop game ever. Holy moly, can you believe it has been that long? I mean, wow, just wow. It is difficult to admit, but I have been playing this game for four decades now and I am still just as excited about it now as I was then. As Wizards of the Coast grows the game, so does the demographic of who plays it and I love the fact that what used to make me seem so nerdy is now something that the public finds to be mainstream. And not only does this allow more people to access it, but it creates a demand for products we had no idea we wanted. In this gift guide, you will see not just game books and reference materials, but also toys, figurines, and even recipe cards. The parenting book alone is a great gift year-round for folks with a new baby on the way. And let’s be honest, there was so much great stuff released this year that you will have no problem finding the perfect gift for that D&D player in your life during this gift-giving season. So with that, Happy Holidays from me and the rest of the Geeks of Doom crew! Here’s the 2024 Holiday Gift Guide: Dungeons & Dragons Edition…

| Holiday Gift Guide 2024: Books, Games, Collectibles & More!
Greetings, Doomers! It’s that time of year again — time to start your holiday shopping! My favorite gifts to give and receive are BOOKS, which is why my Holiday Gift Guides are always book-centric. Over the years, I’ve found that it’s great to bundle book gifts with related items, such as bookmarks, games, collectibles, and accessories. That’s why our holiday gift for books is now expanded to include other items that are also commonly found in bookstores, such as puzzles, games, tarot cards, coloring books, collectibles, and more. Therefore, for many of the listings, I also included links to related/similar items, some of which might be products released prior to 2024. These might be DVD/Blu-rays, action figures, housewares, and more. So check out our expanded Holiday Gift Guide 2024: Books Edition for our favorite holiday gift picks for the readers in your life.

| Fall 2024 Book Recommendations |
|
Fall is here! It’s my favorite season and time for reading. There’s always great titles being released for the spooky season that are perfect for Halloween, as well as with other books, accessories, and more! Putting together this list of Fall reading recommendations is always so much fun because I get to find new titles to anticipate and also I can look back on what was released earlier in the year and catch up on anything I might have missed. Below are some titles — with accompanying links to the print, ebooks, and audiobooks editions — that I personally am looking forward to this Fall, presented here in order of release date, starting with those releasing in September 2024. After this main list, I’ve included some titles that came out earlier this year that you might have missed that would be appropriate to read this Fall, along with those titles getting their paperback edition release this year. At the end, I included recommendations for themed Cookbooks, Crafts, Guides, Coloring Books, Sourcebooks, Card Sets, Journals, and Accessories that make for great fun as well. | Seandps’s Top 10 Movies of 2022 |

Well folks, we did it. One more year has passed and things continue to move towards getting back to normal. Although the meaning of normal is still up for debate. For me, normal is a year full of movies that I got to enjoy in the theaters, and more than a few that I wished I had seen in a dark theater instead of my TV. 2021 was the year I hit 53 new movies watched, and I am happy to report that I doubled that in 2022, as I ended up with 112 new movies watched. And just for a quick reminder, any movie I see for the first time, no matter in theaters or on my TV, counts towards that total. If you follow my social media, you know locking in that #10 spot was a very tough decision. And as I was first writing this out, I ended up switching movies once more. Therefore, before we get to my Top 10 movies of 2022, I’d like to highlight a few honorable mentions that just missed making the main list.

We did it folks! We survived another crazy year, that had a few high moments as well as a few not so great moments. We were back in theaters (sort of), and then Omnicron variant hit, and we are still in theaters, although perhaps with a little hesitation. With my handy A-List status at my local AMC theater, I was able to increase the number of new movies I saw in 2021 to 53 (I hit 42 in 2020). What did I learn this year? Well, I missed the theater experience, thankfully I had a great experience with one of the movies in my top ten list. Streaming continues to be a dominant force; some movies don’t necessarily need to be seen on a big screen, but still plenty new releases were enhanced by going to the theaters again. For 2020, I got a little crazy and added a +1 to my Top Ten list, because I had a hard time with picking the movie to grab that #10 spot. It did happen again this year, so I just wanted to give a quick shout-out to my honorable mention, Mortal Kombat. It finally gave us the R-rated version with all of the violence and gore, with a story that was lacking at many angles, but not all movies need to be Oscar winners. So with no further delay, let’s get to my Top Ten Movies of 2021.
