The Farrelly Brothers Bring ‘Dumb and Dumber 2’ To Universal

We found out back in 2011 that the Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly were planning a sequel to their hit 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber with original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, which was later confirmed by the Farrellys. Since then the project has had ups and downs, from Carrey departing the project to Daniels saying it would begin production this summer to Warner Brothers deciding they would not be greenlighting the sequel.
With all of that now in the past, the Farrelly brothers look to the future. After WB decided they didn’t want to make the movie, it was time to begin shopping it around to other studios who might be interested, and at least one of them was just that. Taking to the Twitter, the Farrellys have announced that the sequel, officially titled Dumb and Dumber To, will go into production with Universal Pictures and Red Granite Pictures.

WB Unwilling To Give ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ The Greenlight

Peter and Bobby Farrelly‘s Dumb and Dumber To nearly fell apart after Jim Carrey reportedly walked out after he felt that Warner Brothers was less than enthusiastic about the seuqel. A few months after, Jeff Daniels quelled some fears saying that Carrey wants to be back, and that production for the long-gestating sequel would begin soon. But that’s history.
The Hollywood Reporter has word now that the studio is dropping the project from its distribution slate, which means that competing distributors are now able to buy the rights for the film.

First Trailer For The Farrelly Brothers’ Long-Awaited ‘Three Stooges’ Has Arrived

The first trailer for the Farrelly Brothers‘ long-awaited and oft-troubled new take on The Three Stooges has arrived, and it is pretty painful to watch.
There was always a dim ray of hope that maybe the movie would end up surprising us with word that it would be in three segments and that they would be able to use the Three Stooges theme music, as well as rumored stars like Jim Carrey, Sean Penn, and Benicio Del Toro. But as you’ll see, with stars Will Sasso, Sean Hayes, and Chris Diamantopoulos (not to mention Snooki from MTV’s Jersey Shore, for some inexplicable reason) this is already the vandalization of a beloved classic we feared it would be.
You can see the trailer for The Three Stooges by clicking on over to the other side now.

Fox Releases ‘The Three Stooges’ Teaser Poster & Banner

It’s not much, but if you were wondering what Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly‘s The Three Stooges are going to look like, we now have a basic idea in the form of a teaser banner (above), as well as a new teaser poster that doesn’t show much of anything.
It’s only the top of their heads, but the new Stooges look pretty much what you probably envisioned in your head they would look like when hearing that we had gone from Jim Carrey, Sean Penn, and Benicio Del Toro playing the famed trio to Will Sasso (MADtv, Happy Gilmore), Sean Hayes (Will & Grace, The Bucket List), and Chris Diamantopoulos (24, The Kennedys).
