There’s short stories featuring almost all of the Peanuts gang, told using such dead-on character dialogue that you really wouldn’t know that there weren’t all written by Charles Schulz himself. And, for good measure, BOOM! throws in a classic Peanuts strip by the creator himself. Lot of chuckles and smiles in this issue.

Today marks the 13th Anniversary of the passing of Charles M. Schulz, whose simple pen and ink comic strip Peanuts parlayed into a worldwide empire of riches, success and set the bar and standard as one of the greatest comic strips of all time.

Schulz, who was a passive and insecure man in real life, utilized those “traits” as the building blocks to the main character of Peanuts, the young tyke Charlie Brown. The sparse-haired, zig-zagged-shirted Brown, became the true embodiment of the seminal “loser” type everyman who seemed to never get a break, let alone an even one, in his life…always coming up empty, always rolling snake eyes with the metaphorical dice he was given.

BOOM! Studios announced today that their BOOM! Kids division has been renamed Kaboom!

The comics publishers sent out the teaser image above to spread the news for their rechristened imprint, which focuses on family friendly comics like Scrooge McDuck and The Muppets.

Soon after the announcement, BOOM! sent out another teaser image, this time with the heading “PEANUTS COME TO KABOOM!” See that image here below. No other information was released regarding the new Peanuts line.
