Going into this, I have to admit, I’ve never read a Doctor Spektor comic before in my life. But, I heard Mark Waid was writing it, so I wanted to at least check it out. Lemme tell you, I’m really glad I did. You don’t have to know anything about the character to enjoy this comic. In fact, I think if you followed the character before, that might hurt your enjoyment of this book. Waid gives us a Doctor Spektor that’s basically a reality TV star, but unlike the reality shows on TV now, this one’s actually a REAL reality show. If that makes sense. On camera, he’s a strong, fearless master of the occult, but behind closed doors, he’s a hot mess. I won’t go into any spoilers, but this is a REALLY interesting character, and if you removed all the monster fighting, I would still read this book, as Waid makes him an incredibly interesting and compelling character.

| The GoD List: Comics For March 21, 2012 |
|
Each and every week “Youthfully Exuberant” MK2Fac3 and “Cranky Geezer” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of March 21, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. Well, well, well! Look whose birthday it is this Saturday! That’s right, it’s not Henchman21’s birthday, it’s MY birthday! Or if you speak dubstep, that’s, “errr i-i-i-i whooom bip bip bip bip wum wum wum beep beep beep whoomp!” There are a lot of great things about my birthday, first thing that comes to mind is that the world celebrates the day that their hero was born unto the Earth. The second being that I celebrate really simply with things like comics! Yes, that’s right, comics! Comics are rad, right? Certainly on par with the radness of professional wrestling, that’s for sure. And really, is there anything radder than comics or professional wrestling? Let me go ahead and answer that for you. No, there’s not. So, don’t get those facts twisted inside your head. Right! So, comics are really awesome and there are awesome comics coming out TODAY, so why don’t you read this, what we like to call The GoD List, and pick up all of these fine comics from your local comic shop OR on a digital format like Comixology? There’s not a single reason for you not to, so go ahead and do it! For me? Thanks! Also, thanks in advance for getting me things.

| The GoD List: Comics For November 2, 2011 |
|
Each and every week “From the timeline 1690″ MK2Fac3 and “12th Level Vice President In His D&D Game” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of November 2, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. In This week’s The GoD List, the Hunter Camp from the normal Earth timeline is off reading Casanova: Luxuria, so replacing him this week is none other than the Hunter Camp of Timeline 1690, and while some might call me an “evil” version, I see it as nothing of the sort. You see, I like some of the finer things in comics. You won’t be seeing any DC Comics or professional wrestling references on the list this week, you see, because Timeline 1690 Hunter only reads more obscure comic titles. And while you’ll get your normal Marvel and GI Joe fare from Henchman21, things may seem a little skewed this week. Think you know how this list will end? I doubt it. Continue on with this week’s GoD List.

Infinite Vacation #1
Writer: Nick Spencer
Artist: Christian Ward
Published by: Image Comics/Shadowline
Price: $3.50
Release Date: January 12, 2011 After two of my favorite comics from the past two years, Existence 2.0/Existence 3.0 and Morning Glories, writer Nick Spencer brings us the next book in his line of ambitious creator-owned series with the brand new comic, The Infinite Vacation. The book starts out semi-normally with the introduction of the main character, Mark, but at the same time, it is also already full of question marks by the end of the first page. The opening page shows us several great things, like hooking up with a beautiful woman, becoming a hero by stopping and apprehending a child molester, and becoming President, all of which happen to Mark, and they are all accompanied by a price tag. The next page, however, presents the exact opposite events of the first page. At this point, Nick Spencer’s writing, accompanied by the water colored, psychedelic art of Christian Ward, starts taking a strange turn as we learn that, with the help of a handy mobile device application, you can switch lives with yourself throughout infinite worlds so that, with a price, you can live any life that you choose.
