Dark Horse Comics cover premiere banner

Dark Horse Comics has provided Geeks of Doom with an exclusive first look at four amazing covers that are set to be released in the month of December, and one coming in February.

In these comics is House of Fun (one-shot) a comic that I’ve been looking forward to for some time now, from Evan Dorkin and Sarah Dwyer. Collected in this one-shot are several entries from the House of Fun run in Dark Horse Presents including new Milk and Cheese comics and some of the most hilarious comic strips that have ever been printed. Also listed below are the comics for Michael Avon Oeming‘s The Victories #5, John Ostrander‘s Star Wars mini-series Agent of the Empire: Hard Targets #3 (of 5), the final issue of Tom Morello‘s Orchid, and the cover to the new Trigun Omnibus, which is set for February.

Each one of these covers is great, and based on what I’ve previously read and the creators attached, these are all great picks for December, so make sure to get your pre-order sheets ready, because you won’t want to miss any of these comics.

Exclusive: Jill Thompson Cover For Dark Horse’s ‘Beasts Of Burden: Neighborhood Watch’

Beasts of Burden Header by Jill Thompson

Dark Horse Comics has announced the release of Beasts Of Burden: Neighborhood Watch, a one-shot collecting three short short stories by Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson, and we have an exclusive look at Thompson’s cover, which you can view here below.

The Eisner Award-winning team bring back some of their most beloved characters in this one-shot, which features the gang of neighborhood pets battling a chicken-stealing goblin, a basilisk, and helping a strange, lost heard of sheep find their way. As usual with Beasts Of Burden, things don’t go so easily. The stories can be fun, humorous, and heartwarming as much as they can be twisted, frightening, and heart-breaking. All these reasons are why I love this comic and this cast of characters. If you haven’t checked out Beasts Of Burden: Animal Rites, it won’t be a necessity to follow the events of Neighborhood Watch, which was originally released in Dark Horse Presents, although I highly recommend it if you enjoy good comics.

Each and every week “Easy Peasy” MK2Fac3 and “Livin’ Greasy” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 18, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

Man, comics are pretty expensive, huh? I’m sitting here looking at my pull list this week, and I’m not seeing a lot of books that fall under the price of three dollars. See, while comics for the most part are less than a gallon of gasoline in some regions, others are more, which is just flat out insane. So, when we’re stuck in an economy such as this, with an unemployment rate as high as it, we need an escape. And if you’re reading this, I’m assuming that you’re escape is the same as ours, comic books. Comic books get a lot of flack for a lot of different reasons, but there’s something about even the super hero books that everyone complains about that offer something that no other form of entertainment offers. So, it’s with this idea that we present The GoD List, a list full of comics that we are looking forward to that should help you, if not solve these real-life situation, then at least provide away to temporarily relieve them by letting you know what’s worth your time and why.

Each and every week “Youthfully Exuberant” MK2Fac3 and “Cranky Geezer” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of March 21, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

Well, well, well! Look whose birthday it is this Saturday! That’s right, it’s not Henchman21’s birthday, it’s MY birthday! Or if you speak dubstep, that’s, “errr i-i-i-i whooom bip bip bip bip wum wum wum beep beep beep whoomp!” There are a lot of great things about my birthday, first thing that comes to mind is that the world celebrates the day that their hero was born unto the Earth. The second being that I celebrate really simply with things like comics! Yes, that’s right, comics! Comics are rad, right? Certainly on par with the radness of professional wrestling, that’s for sure. And really, is there anything radder than comics or professional wrestling? Let me go ahead and answer that for you. No, there’s not. So, don’t get those facts twisted inside your head. Right! So, comics are really awesome and there are awesome comics coming out TODAY, so why don’t you read this, what we like to call The GoD List, and pick up all of these fine comics from your local comic shop OR on a digital format like Comixology? There’s not a single reason for you not to, so go ahead and do it! For me? Thanks! Also, thanks in advance for getting me things.
