Whhaaaaat?!!? You remember me, right? Well, I apologize for the lack of fac3 (faceless?) time on these here websites. A lot has changed recently and Tuesdays and Wednesdays have become even busier for me recently, what with the new job and all… (pausing for congratulatory high fives), so I’ve been away for like a week or something and some have said that I phoned in the previous week’s, but to those people (HENCHMAN!!!), I say this, “I’m back, BABAY!” And there have been some truly amazing comic books over the last few weeks. Did you guys read Creator Owned Heroes? I may be jumping the gun a little bit since it’s only been one issue, but I honestly think it could be a game changer. And while this week may not be jam packed full of potential game-changers, there’s some really good stuff to look forward to. So, follow me past the break, so that we can talk about all the great comics that are coming out this week. This is The GoD List, after all.

Well, if you want to read about that, then you can just go look to another article, because there will be none of that here! What will be here? Well, we’ve got some pleasant surprises for you, so just keep on reading as we show you The GoD List, a place where you will find out all of the comics that you should be reading this week!

The GoD List: Comics For April 18, 2012
|
 |

Each and every week “Easy Peasy†MK2Fac3 and “Livin’ Greasy†Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 18, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.
Man, comics are pretty expensive, huh? I’m sitting here looking at my pull list this week, and I’m not seeing a lot of books that fall under the price of three dollars. See, while comics for the most part are less than a gallon of gasoline in some regions, others are more, which is just flat out insane. So, when we’re stuck in an economy such as this, with an unemployment rate as high as it, we need an escape. And if you’re reading this, I’m assuming that you’re escape is the same as ours, comic books. Comic books get a lot of flack for a lot of different reasons, but there’s something about even the super hero books that everyone complains about that offer something that no other form of entertainment offers. So, it’s with this idea that we present The GoD List, a list full of comics that we are looking forward to that should help you, if not solve these real-life situation, then at least provide away to temporarily relieve them by letting you know what’s worth your time and why.

With a jetpack fueled by insomnia and an easily amused mind, From the Interwebs scours and sifts through everything that has ever appeared on the internet (more or less) to find a few things that you should know about every week. These things come from the interwebs, hence the clever name.
This week we have Rocky 4 with robots, CD art, Tobias Fünke, a Marvel Dance-Off, and child celebrities responding to Kirk Cameron.

The GoD List: Comics For April 4, 2012
|

Each and every week “YES! YES! YES!†MK2Fac3 and “Love Him or Hate Him†Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 4, 2012. Well, so a lot of things have happened over the past week. Most of them happened at WrestleMania. You see, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, and all of the fans got screwed out of a really good, fun match when WWE booked the match to end in 18 seconds. I know most of you don’t really care about wrestling (I actually don’t know that), but you should check out Daniel Bryan’s stuff on YouTube. Dude’s phenomenal! Anyway, now that the customary wrestling talk is out of the way, let’s address comics! Comics? Yes, comics, Hunter. There’s a whole lot of freaking books coming out this week that are newsworthy. Firstly, let’s address that this is the cancellation month for DC books, so if you’re one of the 50 people reading OMAC, you won’t be reading that anymore. Scott McDaniel and myself won’t be reading Static Shock anymore, and I’m pretty sure no one was still reading Mr. Terrific or Blackhawks anyway, but those books are gone as well. Along with these books, Men of War is getting cancelled, too, and it’s getting replaced with a war book in what I can only assume is a way to stop Viktor Kalvachev from making amazing covers for DC books. Nonetheless, this week’s Men of War features a guest appearance by Frankenstein and it’s written by Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt, so make sure that’s on your radar. Am I giving too much away in the intro? Maybe, but there’s still one more thing to hit on. What was it…? Hmm…. Oh yeah! Avengers vs. X-Men officially starts this week! So, if you want a complete rundown of this and all the other books you should be paying for and attention to, keep reading because that’s what The GoD List is all about, mother lovers.

ABC’s ‘The Chew’ To Feature Marvel’s ‘Avengers Vs. X-Men’; Yes, Cookies Will Be Made
|
 |

In an incredibly bizarre stroke of corporate synergy, Marvel announced on Tuesday that their hot summer comic book event Avengers Vs. X-Men will be featured on ABC‘s The Chew on Wednesday, April 4, 2012.
Yeah, I have no idea either, but this is apparently a real thing. Marvel states that the chefs of the talk/cooking show hybrid will both be discussing the comic as well as providing some healthy recipes for viewers of which, and I quote, “even Captain America would approve.” For those that don’t know, Disney owns both the ABC network as well as Marvel Comics, so it’s not really a surprise that there would be some cross-promotion going on here. But on a cooking show?
I don’t know, it sounds kind of ridiculous when you think that maybe Brian Michael Bendis and other creators could have been interviewed on any of the other numerous talk shows that ABC hosts, and maybe they are and I just haven’t seen anything about it. Either way, this is a very weird thing to take place. And if you don’t mind, I’m going to hypothesize about what we could be seeing…

My Henchman is on sabbatical this week, so I’ve decided to go solo. If H21 were here, though, I’m sure he’d ramble on about a variety of comics, but he’s not. So, get over it! But enough of all that! I wanted to address to important items that are on my radar this week. Firstly, it’s the week after my birthday and none of you got me anything! I’m so incredibly disappointed in each and every one of you. I spend my time giving you something entertaining to read and this is how you repay me!? In the words of the legendary The Iron Sheik, “::expletive deleted::!†Goodness gracious alive, folks! Anyway, on to the next item on the docket, it’s Wrestlemania week! Everyone celebrate! YAY! CM Punk is going to beat Chris Jericho and that’s a fact, Jack! Oh yeah, this feature is about comics…. Here’s this week’s The GoD List!
