The first two Kingsman films introduced the film world to a higher class of spying. Based on the Mark Millar comics of the same name, the franchise is a fun take on the genre that had grown too dark and gritty in recent years. But all agencies have a beginning, and that is no different with the Kingsman. So before all the tailored clothes, fashionable high tech gadgetry, and the manners, there was The King’s Man. This prequel is set nearly a century before the events of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and it stars Ralph Fiennes as a World War I soldier who helps launch the new agency. Daredevil and Spartacus showrunner Steven S. DeKnight takes on the same role for this series, and now a bunch of castings have been announced. They include Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, Ben Daniels, and more.

Almost one year ago it was announced that Netflix had acquired Millarworld, Kick-Ass and Kingsman creator Mark Millar‘s comic book publishing company.

Now Netflix has unveiled the first lineup of movies and TV series based on the stories of Millar that are on the way. You can see what they are below along with more information on each.

Netflix has acquired Mark Millar‘s comic book publishing company, Millarworld.

That’s right, instead of simply acquiring the rights to make a new TV series or movie based on specific comic book, Netflix is taking things a step further by acquiring an entire comics company.
