The Gold Box deal of the day over at Amazon today is Friends – The Complete Series Collection DVD box set for only $114.99 (that’s 62% off the list price of $299.98).

This is a 40-disc DVD collection contains all 10 seasons of the popular NBC sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004 and has remained on television thanks to major syndication runs. Friends showed a group of 20-something friends — Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross — living in New York City going through all kinds of real-life ups and downs with relationships, jobs, money, and friendship, all to humorous effect.

The six major stars — the “friends” — were played by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, but the series had many major guest stars like Aniston’s then-husband Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, and Danny DeVito, along with a reoccurring role by Tom Selleck as Monica’s older boyfriend.

The Weinstein Company hasn’t had the greatest luck in the world (award winners: yes; money winners: not so much), so the brothers, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, are retracting back to what brought them so much success through Dimension Films (who came with them after they left Miramax): genre movies. While sharing their plans for the future, a basic update on Scream 4 was offered, and it included a one Neve Campbell.

It was announced a couple months ago that a new Scream trilogy was being developed, and already has original writer Kevin Williamson working on the script, and both David Arquette and Courteney Cox set to return. The unknown cards to the franchise reboot were whether star Neve Campbell and director Wes Craven would come back. Reports indicated that Craven was still unsure and waiting to read the script before he decides, and Campbell actually came right out and said that she would not be doing it.

For a while now, many rumors swirled of the return of the Scream franchise. Eventually it was confirmed that writer Kevin Williamson was not only aiming to make another movie, but another whole trilogy of movies. Some fans cheered at the thought of more Scream finally coming; others cringed at the very thought of what it might bring. Most assumed this would be some sort of reboot with a whole new cast of actors involved, but soon word came that they were talking to none other than David Arquette and his wife Courteney Cox to reprise their roles as Deputy Dewey and Gail Weathers. This report has now been confirmed by Arquette himself, who stated to E! that he and his wife are both all set to return to the franchise that sparked their romance, and that Williamson was writing the script and fingers were crossed that Wes Craven would return to direct.

The last movie in the franchise came out in 2000, and even though that’s near a decade ago, it doesn’t really feel like it’s been that long. Even so, up until we found out they wanted Arquette and Cox, the Scream 4 project felt like it was stuck in a sort of purgatory, not sure whether it was another sequel or some kind of reboot.
