Tomb Raider

Last year’s E3 brought with it a peek at the video game reboot (a movie reboot is also in the works) of the Tomb Raider franchise, complete with an origins story and new look for the famed Lara Croft.

This year developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix brought with them even more goodies from the game in the form of a brand new gameplay trailer and a demo of the game in action as you’ll play it.

This is a game getting a lot of positive attention thanks to footage such as this, but unfortunately we still have to wait until 2013 to get our hands on it.

You can see the new trailer and gameplay demo by clicking on over to the other side.

E3 2012: Two Epic New ‘Assassin’s Creed 3’ Gameplay Demos Strike

Assassin's Creed III

The Assassin’s Creed franchise had become pretty stale lately with a new game every single year and the previous three in a row set in Italy with protagonist Ezio Auditore. However, even though a year off would have probably been for the best, the decision to jump to a completely different point in time is looking to be a very smart one by Ubisoft.

Assassin’s Creed III moves to the American Revolution, and a couple new gameplay demos shown off at E3 have a decent little buzz growing around the game. The first demo shows the assassin you’ll be playing as, but instead of navigating an ancient city, he’s making his way through snowy forests and enemy forts (though there will still be cities as well, such as Boston). The second (and possibly even more exciting) demo reveals a new layer to Assassin’s Creed gameplay: naval warfare. Players will take the wheel of a massive vessel and head out sea where some serious Master and Commander cannon fire will be exchanged.

To see the two new Assassin’s Creed III gameplay demos (as well as a new cinematic trailer) for yourself, head below now.

The Last of Us

Naughty Dog, the team behind the ridiculously good Uncharted trilogy, were also in attendance at E3 to show off their new game, The Last of Us.

Not a whole lot is known about the game other than it focuses on a man and a girl who, together, are making their way through and trying to survive the aftermath of the apocalypse. The devastation is caused by some sort of pandemic, which causes some people to become zombie-like mutated beings (as was seen in the debut trailer for the game), and you’ll have the option of going to war with enemies or trying to make your way through dangerous areas unseen.

A gameplay demo was presented at the convention, and while it doesn’t give us more on this zombie mutants, it does show off the combat with human enemies (everyone who survives the apocalypse becomes dangerous in one way or another), and how your teenage companion can help out.

Head on below now to see the gameplay demo for The Last of Us.

Beyond: Two Souls

The highly anticipated new game from Heavy Rain creator Quantic Dream was announced at E3, and it will be called Beyond: Two Souls.

Unlike Heavy Rain, the new game doesn’t involve you interacting with everything around you, and instead focuses more on action and story. It tells a supernatural story that spans fifteen years. You play as Jodie Holmes, who has some kind of bond with an unseen spiritual being who helps her on her journey and protects her from the many dangerous people who are after her.

Even better, Jodie is played by Ellen Page via performance capture technology. The ultra realistic look is hugely important when characters are an important part of your game, and that’s what players have come to expect from Quantic.

You can check out the impressive preview of Beyond: Two Souls below now.

Halo 4 Promethean

One of the most anticipated games arriving later this year, Halo 4 reunites gamers with their beloved Master Chief.

Since first being announced at last year’s E3, fans have been itching to get a real look at some gameplay from the newest Halo adventure, and now they have it. It still looks like the Halo we all know and love, but with a few changes (such as weapons that automatically modify according to the player) and additions that look promising…including a whole new enemy known as the Prometheans (you’ll know them when you see them).

You can check out the Halo 4 gameplay demo by clicking on over to the other side now.
