Fans of thrash metal all know that the San Francisco Bay Area is the official birthplace of the genre that saw the rise of legends like Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. Now, a new documentary will give everyone a look at those bands and others who played fast and furious in the 1980s. Watch the trailer here below for Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story, which features over 50 interviews with members of the aforementioned bands, as well as Testament, Death Angel, Exodus (the title of the doc is taken from a line from “Bonded By Blood,” the title track from Exodus’s debut album), and many others.

| King Diamond To Perform ‘Abigail’ In Full On Fall Tour
In the best metal news of the day, King Diamond has announced that they will be embarking on a fall tour of the United States with legendary Bay Area thrash titans Exodus providing direct support. Plus, they will be performing their legendary 1987 concept album Abigail in its entirety. Abigail was King Diamond’s second album after leaving Mercyful Fate and is widely considered to be a watershed moment in the extreme metal world. The tour begins October 29th in Denver and winds its way through most major markets before concluding on December 5th in King’s adopted hometown of Dallas on December 5th. The general on sale for tickets begins Friday, August 7th at 10am EST. Be sure to get yours quick as this tour is sure to be sold out in no time. | 11-Year-Old Boy Is The Voice Of God In Ridley Scott’s ‘Exodus’; Final Trailer Released
For his upcoming biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings, director Ridley Scott chose to cast an 11-year-old boy to portray the voice of God. In the movie, Moses (Christian Bale) meets the young boy named Malak (played by Isaac Andrews) in front of the burning bush. The boy then appears from time to time to guide and debate Moses, who eventually realizes that this boy is actually being used by God to speak to him. Fun fact: the word “malak” translates to “messenger” in the Hebrew bible. | Listen Now: “Salt The Wound” By Exodus Featuring Kirk Hammett
Bay Area thrash masters Exodus are set to release their tenth studio album Blood In, Blood Out on October 14th via Nuclear Blast Records. Guitarist Gary Holt has been doing double duty playing not only in Exodus but also filling the slot left vacant by the late Jeff Hannemann in Slayer, raising Exodus’s public profile. Add to that the fact that the band’s iconic vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza has returned to the fold and former Exodus and current Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is contributing a guest solo, and you get arguably the most anticipated record Exodus record ever. Now, we are getting our first listen to the track that Hammett contributed to and it does not disappoint. “Salt the Wound” is exactly the sort of classic thrash riff fest that we’ve come to expect from Exodus and Hammett’s solo is instantly recognizable.
