Many attempts at making a live-action Halo movie have failed miserably, but numerous live-action trailers have been made to promote new titles in the video game series that have effectively proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that a movie—if handled properly—could work.

With the highly anticipated return of Master Chief set happen when Halo 4 is released this Tuesday, November 6th, Microsoft isn’t holding back on the epic promotions. We’ve already seen a great live-action trailer that was produced by David Fincher, but the company also went ahead and spent $10 million to produce a massive five-part live-action web series titled Forward Unto Dawn. And while it may not be exactly the kind of movie fans of the games wanted, the five parts do in fact combine to create an impressive near 90-minute movie worth watching.
