In the not-too-distant future, next Sunday A.D., there was a show called Mystery Science Theater 3000, that looks like it was made for me. Sure you can’t put those words to music as well as lyrics written by talented songwriters, but that doesn’t make them any less true. The Story

Frank (Joel Murray) is a divorced insurance salesman who lives alone in a house with walls so thin he can hear the wailing of his next door neighbor’s baby day and night. His own daughter (Mackenzie Brooke Smith) wants nothing to do with him and is being increasingly spoiled by her ineffectual mother (Melinda Page Hamilton). One day his entire life falls apart: a misunderstood act of affection at work leads to the loss of his job, and then his doctor informs him – in between taking ill-timed calls on his cell – that the reason he’s getting migraines is because he has an inoperable brain tumor.
