| Video: ‘Shaun Of The Dead’ Gets The ‘Dead Island’ Treatment |
 |

Dead Island has been quite the hot topic over the course of the past week. It started with an incredible cinematic trailer for the zombie game that wowed the masses, followed by news that the rights to make a movie based on it had been acquired, which was then immediately shot down as untrue. With all of that attention, it should come as no shock that people are beginning to make their own video tributes to Dead Island and zombies in general. One such video takes the music and general concept behind the Dead Island trailer, and applies it to the end scenes of zombie classic, Shaun of the Dead. Made by Dan Bull, the video has gained much favor and even star Simon Pegg has sung his praise. You can see the video by clicking on over to the other side now, but be warned: if you’ve not seen Shaun of the Dead, many spoilers will be seen. Also: if you haven’t seen Shaun of the Dead, what the hell is wrong with you? It’s the greatest zombie movie ever, and you need to get on that immediately.

| February 2nd, 2011 at 5:52 pm |
Original KISS drummer, Peter Criss, has announced that his long-awaited autobiography will be published in late 2012. Under the working title of Makeup to Breakup, the memoir is said to encompass not only the highs and lows of his time with KISS, but also his upbringing and life post-KISS.
Criss first announced his plans for an autobiography back in 1987 in interviews with KISS fanzines around the world. Since that time, little progress has been made with each subsequent time the Catman has discussed the book… however, with this announcement, Criss has got himself a publisher backing the memoir: Scribner. The Simon and Schuster imprint will publish Makeup to Breakup during Fall 2012, and it will be written with the assistance of Larry “Ratso” Sloman, who is best known for his work on Howard Stern’s books.

| January 29th, 2011 at 7:47 pm |
The animated cartoon concept created by KISS drummer Eric Carr before his passing may now become a reality thanks to Rocksville Nation Comics, which will be publishing a comic book including Carr’s Rockheads characters in an April 2011 release. In the second issue of Dyna Meecho’s Rocksville Nation, The Rockheads will be making an appearance in the adventure titled Ticket to Rockheads.
According to a press release, the story sees two young rockers on their own Detroit Rock City-style adventure, desperately attempting to find tickets to the final sold out Rockheads concert. The tale essentially places Eric Carr’s Rockheads as the idols of the main characters, and sounds like a lot of fun.

Gene Simmons has become targeted by the online group known as Anonymous, after the bassist and founding member of KISS angered Internet users following remarks he made against file sharing on the web. The ongoing feud escalated to the point where Simmons’ official web site and his official record company site were subject to a DDoS attack by Anonymous, resulting in legal action being threatened against individuals who participated in the attacks.
Simmons has been a vocal opponent against peer-to-peer file sharing for many years, and has also been critical of artists searching for alternative business models for the music industry in the 21st century. Anonymous, often associated with the image board 4chan, made Gene Simmons a target of Operation Payback (part of Anonymous’ ongoing online battle against organizations such as the RIAA and MPAA) following remarks he made during a panel discussion at MIPCOM 2010: Make sure your brand is protected. Make sure there are no incursions. Be litigious. Sue everybody. Take their homes, their cars. Don’t let anybody cross that line.
