Matt Reeves, the director behind Cloverfield and the recent Let the Right One In remake, Let Me In, has a few new projects lining up for the future. The latest of said projects to be announced is something of a prequel to Mary Shelley‘s classic horror story, Frankenstein, that will be titled This Dark Endeavor.

It tells the story of Victor Frankenstein and his twin brother, Konrad, who are very close and have been all their lives. When Konrad becomes deathly sick, Victor remembers a library he and his brother once explored””and were forbidden to return to by their father””filled with books of remedies and various alchemical concoctions. Victor returns to the library and discovers the “Elixir of Life,” and sets off to seek the help of an alchemist in finding the ingredients necessary to create the elixir and save his brother’s life.
