It’s no secret that we love William Shatner, so it’s with much delight that we give you the heads up that his 1977 scifi-horror flick Kingdom of the Spiders will be released on Special Edition DVD tomorrow, January 19, 2010.
The movie was made at a time when filmmakers didn’t have CGI at their disposal to create scores of critters for their “creature invasion” movies. Therefore, if you wanted a spider invasion, you needed hundreds of live spiders, and Kingdom of the Spiders has just that — live tarantulas crawling all over the set and the actors!
The Special Edition DVD has an all-new anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film and comes with interviews, commentary, behind-the-scenes-footage, and more.
