Watch Now: Trailer For ‘Devoured’, The Latest Film From The Director Of ‘Lemmy’

Following up his co-directing gig on last year’s acclaimed rock documentary Lemmy, Greg Oliver is in post-production on his first solo feature film, a psychological horror film entitled Devoured. The first trailer for Devoured has been released, which you can check out here below.
The film stars Marta Milans as a single mother struggling to make ends meet by getting a job washing dishes in a restaurant where nothing is what it seems (or so the trailer would have us believe). She starts having unnerving visions, intense encounters, and it all builds to a “brilliant, shocking ending” (in the words of the trailer). It’s a pretty basic horror trailer made solely to get early word out about the movie and it will likely come in handy when it’s time to sell the movie to the general public. A solid teaser trailer all in all.

The metal world has suffered another heavy loss, with the sad news that former Motörhead guitarist, Würzel, passed away on July 9, 2011, reportedly from heart disease. He was 61 years old.
Würzel joined Motörhead in 1984, for the timeless album Orgasmatron, and remained with the band through to 1995.
According to Mark Carras at RockMyMonkey.com:
He had acquired the nickname Würzel in the Army because his Scarecrow like hair made him look like a British children’s fictional character Worzel Gummidge. Motörhead leader Lemmy Kilmister is rumored to have had the idea to add the umlaut to the ‘U’ to make it more metal.

FREE Listen: Motorhead’s ‘The World Is Yours’

Our friend Mark Carras over at Rock My Monkey pointed out that the new Motörhead album, The World Is Yours, is streaming online for FREE right now at AOL Music.
Seriously, give it a listen — it’s FREE, and it’s the entire album, which was released in the U.S. on February 8, 2011. I’m not familiar with AOL’s CD listening parties, so I’d recommend checking this out right away, since I’m not sure how long it will be streaming for free.
The new album is awesome. When I listened to The World Is Yours, I felt like I did back in 1987 when I first heard Rock-N-Roll… it’s sooooo good.

In 1975 Ian “˜Lemmy’ Kilmister was fired from British space-rock group Hawkwind. He wasted no time in getting back on the music horse and quickly formed a new three-piece band which almost as a direct opposite to Hawkwind was loud, fast, and if it moved in next door to you “˜your lawn would die’. Lemmy continued to play the bass (despite having no experience when he joined Hawkwind four years earlier) and a suitable name was chosen. Sadly Lemmy was persuaded against calling his new band Bastard and changed it to the infinitely superior Motörhead.
An incredible 36 years later Motörhead is still going and continues to record new albums at an admirable rate. The World Is Yours is Motörhead’s 20th studio album and sounds as fresh as the first.
