As one of the more popular anti-heroes of the comic book world, the announcement of a movie based on the Wade Wilson himself, Deadpool, was music to the ears of fans.

With promises of a faithful adaptation, the perfect-fitting Ryan Reynolds reprising his role from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and the assurance that the severe mishandling of the character in Wolverine would be wiped clean, how could anyone not be excited? To add to all of this, a rumor that was first reported by CHUD in early December has now been confirmed by the trades: Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been hired on to pen the Deadpool script.

This is fantastic news to throw onto the pre-existing pile of positive ingredients that have been applied to the project. Zombieland was praised for its humor and well-placed sarcasm, which is what Wade Wilson is really all about.
