‘Joker’ Passes ‘Deadpool’ As Top R-Rated Movie; Ryan Reynolds Shares Fitting Response

Since Joker arrived in theaters at the beginning of this month, it’s been on quite a tear at the box office. This past weekend the movie passed $800 million worldwide, and topped both Deadpool and Deadpool 2 as the new highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time in the process.
As has become customary when a movie beats another movie’s record at the box office, congratulations were in order. And with Ryan Reynolds being the star of the Deadpool franchise, you knew it was going to be a good one. Reynolds sent out a tweet offering congratulations, and did so in a completely fitting way for the new R-rated champ. You can see what he shared below.

Apple Lands Musical Take On Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ Starring Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell

A new adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol is on the way. This one will be a musical, with Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell set to star.
Now this latest take on A Christmas Carol has a home. After a bidding war which included Netflix, Warner Bros., and Paramount all making offers to acquire the movie, it was Apple who ultimately won the project and is now in final negotiations to complete the acquisition. And it sounds like they dropped some big money on the table to pass all other bidders.

Official Trailer Released For Michael Bay’s ‘6 Underground’ Starring Ryan Reynolds

Netflix has released an official trailer for 6 Underground, director Michael Bay‘s latest over the top action flick.
The movie stars Ryan Reynolds Ben Hardy, Mélanie Laurent, Adria Arjona, Dave Franco, Corey Hawkins, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and follows a group of vigilantes who faked their own deaths and now use their skills to take down notorious criminals.

Netflix Acquires ‘Red Notice’ Starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds

Netflix has announced that they have acquired a movie titled Red Notice, which comes from Dwayne Johnson and Rawson Marshall Thurber. The pair has worked together twice in recent years on Central Intelligence and Skyscraper. Johnson stars and produces the feature, while Thurber writes, directs, and produces.
Also set to star is Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds. The movie is described as a “globetrotting action-thriller” in which Johnson plays an agent who has been tasked with pursuing the world’s most wanted art thief.

Ryan Reynolds Finds ‘Pokemon: Detective Pikachu’ Leaked Online

If you’ve been keeping up with the marketing for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, then you know how hilariously meta it has been. With a little bit of help from Ryan Reynolds using some of his infectious personality and sharp sense of humor, the upcoming film looks like it will live up to expectations and hopefully break the cycle of video game film adaptations being bad.
But the actor has found a leak of the full film that was posted on YouTube late last night. While he made sure to bring it to Warner Brothers’ attention, it looks like the studio has taken no action whatsoever. Of course, there may be a clever reason for that. Check out the video below.

Ryan Reynolds Shares New ‘Pokémon Detective Pikachu’ Trailer “What A Pikachu World”

Ryan Reynolds, who voices Pikachu in the upcoming Pokémon movie Detective Pikachu, has shared a new trailer of sorts he’s dubbed “What a Pikachu World.”
The new trailer shares some peeks at the movie, sometimes a getting a bit emotional, set to Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.” In addition to the trailer, a new behind the scenes featurette has also found its way online.

Once, there were 150 different kinds of Pokémon. But that was a long time ago. Now there are over 807 kinds of Pokémon. And though it may be difficult to cram all of them in one film, Detective Pikachu will bring out the best, overlooked, and your favorites.
Warner Bros. has just released a new video showing off some of these Pokémon that range from Charizard, the Flame Pokémon; and Jigglypuff, the Balloon Pokémon; to Pancham, the Playful Pokémon; and Aipom, the Long Arm Pokémon. Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi Are Reuniting For Video Game Comedy ‘Free Guy’

Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi, was unremarkable to say the least. Reynolds has gone on to do other things like Deadpool while Waititi is perhaps better known for his directorial efforts, some of which also featured him in starring roles.
And now it looks like the long-awaited reunion between the two is finally happening. But not for a Green Lantern sequel. According to new reports, the two will pair up for Free Guy, a video game based comedy. More info on the project below.

‘Detective Pikachu’ Trailer: Justice Smith and Ryan Reynolds Need A Pokémon Hero

Warner Bros. and Legendary could have gone the traditional route with their first live-action Pokémon movie by adapting the story of the boy on a journey to collect all Pokémon species. But they didn’t. Instead, they are adapting one of the franchise’s many spinoffs, Detective Pikachu.
In the film adaptation, we see Justice Smith play Tim Goodman, a human, whose father has suddenly gone missing. But when a wise-cracking Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) comes in to help him, they uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.
