It looks like Rob Zombie and Dimension films have officially taken off full-speed toward a sequel to the 2007 remake/revision of the original 1978 cult horror hit Halloween.
This will seemingly set in motion the start of new line of Halloween movies that hope to be better than all of the original movie’s sequels. If this continues, it will also need to avoid becoming as shamelessly repetitive as, oh, say maybe Saw has.
The difficult part is that now that everyone is ready to go, they’re aiming to put this movie out in October, giving them… well, no time to make a major motion picture at all.
Rob Zombie had this to say about the project:
I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again. Now, we’ll be hauling ass, and that’s the problem making a movie called ‘Halloween’: If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I’d be fine.
