| Rob Zombie’s Next Horror Remake Will Be ‘The Blob’
Director Rob Zombie‘s sequel remake Halloween II is being released in theaters today, and already, negative feedback is flowing strong. As with any director who tries to take a classic of any genre and remake it, moviegoers need to be truly blown away for it to find success, and so far, Zombie hasn’t done so with the Halloween franchise. Instead of retracting back to his original concepts in the realms of shock horror (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects), it’s being reported that Zombie will be moving right into another classic horror remake: The Blob. The 1958 movie tells the story of a mysterious object landing on Earth that turns out to be a gelatinous red blob that absorbs human beings and grows huge as it moves along. The Blob has been remade before — with an updated version in 1988 — but it appears that Zombie’s version will be a true remake with a bold, bold move.

| Rumor Killing Madness! McG, Rob Zombie Clarify ‘H2’ & ‘Terminator Salvation’ Confusions |
 |

Apparently this weekend was the national Directors Confirm/Deny/Elaborate Rumors day. Two of the more news-worthy bits that had come about recently, involved two of this summer’s big blockbusters. One involved Rob Zombie‘s H2: Halloween 2, in which we were told that Michael Myers would actually be mask-less for the majority of the movie (Read: Wait, What? Michael Myers To Be Without Mask For Most Of ‘H2’?). Then there’s Terminator Salvation, which has had a couple of big stories regarding the movie’s ending — one involved some insanity with John Connor (Christian Bale), the other being when director McG made it very clear that some people would probably hate how the movie ends, hinting at a big cliffhanger. /Film had the opportunity to have a little chit-chat with Mr. Zombie recently, where he cleared the air on the whole mask-less Myers rumor for everyone who was worried. It is total bullshit. [laughs] See, I think Wayne Toth [SFX] said [70% mask-less] when you guys were down on the set. Wayne wasn’t bullshitting you, but that was taken out of context, and to an extreme [online]. We’ve filmed so much stuff and at this point nobody but me knows what we’re going to use or not use. There are more shots of Michael Myers running around in his mask in this movie than in any of the other movies. This should be a relief to most fans. There was an image that was recently going around in which half of the iconic mask was missing…I wonder if that may have been what was meant of the original statement. Even better, and much more insane, are the details regarding all of those Terminator Salvation ending rumors. Unfortunately, while the endings in question will not be featured in the final film, there is a chance that they will turn up on the DVD. Because of this, the spoiler warning is officially in effect! Click over to the other side to see what madness McG had in mind for his ending originally.

| First Teaser Trailer For Rob Zombie’s ‘H2’; Possible Plot Details |
 |
It still seems like Rob Zombie‘s remake of Halloween just came out in theaters, but believe it or not the teaser trailer for the sequel, H2 has already been released. (Click over to watch it!)
The movie recently had a semi-controversial story making the rounds when it was revealed that the iconic Michael Myers would be without his famous mask for most of the sequel (See: Wait, What? Michael Myers To Be Without Mask For Most Of “˜H2″²?), but the teaser doesn’t look half bad in terms of horror movies. When it comes to Zombie’s movies, I think it’s all pretty straight-forward to begin with — you either dig the man’s style or you don’t. If you do, then you’ll probably find yourself enjoying the teaser trailer, and should check it out below. From what I can see, there is no official synopsis for the movie out there yet. None that I could find, anyway. I did find a synopsis on ShockYa that may or may not be accurate, so it’s included below. Keep in mind, this doesn’t seem to be official, but judging by the new trailer, it sounds pretty close.

| A Look at Michael Myers in Iconic Mask In ‘H2’ Just a few days ago, it was reported that in H2, Rob Zombie‘s upcoming sequel to his Halloween reboot, serial killer Michael Myers would spend about 70 percent of the film without a mask (see Wait, What? Michael Myers To Be Without Mask For Most Of “˜H2″²?).
Now, the director has posted on his MySpace blog the first official look at Tyler Mane as Michael Myers wearing the iconic William Shatner mask that the killer is best known for from the original Halloween franchise. (See image at right, click for larger full view.) Well, after 35 days of snow, freezing rain, fire ants, mud and blood we are done! The cast and crew kick ass beyond ass to bring you the most demented Halloween ever! In less than five months Michael will be back in your face! | Wait, What? Michael Myers To Be Without Mask For Most Of ‘H2’? |
 |

I’m not a big fan of Michael Myers, and I never have been. The original Halloween is a decent little indie horror movie in its own right, but overall, the character as a horror icon bores me to no end. That said, this news even blew me away a little, and I can’t imagine what it will have the hardcore fans saying. Shock Till You Drop was able to chat with make-up artist Wayne Toth on the set of the sequel to director Rob Zombie‘s reboot of Halloween, entitled H2. One of the questions asked was in regard to a set picture the came a little bit back that showed a beastly Tyler Mane as Michael Myers walking around without his mask on (seen above, click for big). Surprisingly, he admitted that this will be how Michael Myers looks for 70% of the movie! Toth explains: That’s Michael’s new look for a lot of the film. Fans will be shocked. They seem pretty responsive to it. But it’s like anything else, as long as you’re doing something cool, people get it.
