This week, a global Internet apocalypse is upon us!… or is it? Twitter turns seven, Blizzard‘s next Warcraft is not an RPG but a card game, streaming video heats up, the iPhone’s on T-Mobile, Scientists plan a real Jurassic Park, and a dongle joke that spiraled way out of control.

Red Wasp Design has been hard at work making all of your Cthulhuian dreams come true this holiday season. It began with the Cthulhu Christmas Calender app and now comes new information and goodies from Red Wasp’s Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land game.

The game is based on the many works of author H.P. Lovecraft, and now has both a release date and shiny new hi-def screenshots to take a peek at, which you can see below now.

For those of you who have yet to hear, a brand new South Park video game is currently being developed titled South Park: The Game.

Most people will scoff at such news, knowing full well that almost all games based on movies or TV shows or animated series are usually just made to make money off of the property, and are all but guaranteed to suck horribly. But this game…this game is different. Or so it feels.

Author George R.R. Martin‘s wildly popular A Song of Ice and Fire book series has had fans whisking themselves off to the lands of Westeros for many years now. And with the booming first–season success of HBO’s adaptation of the book, Game of Thrones, people haven’t been this excited about this particular brand of fantasy in a long, long time.

But what if I told you we could soon take that geekdom for the world and its characters a step further? As you may have heard, a video game company called Cyanide Studio has been working on a real–time strategy game based on Martin’s mythology titled Game of Thrones: Genesis. What you may not have heard, however, is that the studio is also working on a Game of Thrones role–playing game along the same lines as Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the PC and next–generation consoles…and that, my dear friends, is something to be very excited about.

College Humor is at it again, this time creating a trailer of sorts for a faux video game adaptation of HBO’s Game of Thrones, not coming to a Super Nintendo console near you any time soon.

The video shows off what Game of Thrones would look like if it was given the 16–bit Final Fantasy RPG treatment, with hilarious results. I don’t know about you, but I laughed like that wacky Mogwai from Gremlins 2 while watching it.
