| ‘Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle’: New Trailer For Andy Serkis’s Take On ‘The Jungle Book’ Released
Back in May we saw a trailer for Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes, and King Kong star Andy Serkis‘s new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling‘s The Jungle Book titled Mowgli. At the time the movie was set up at Warner Brothers, where it had been housed over the past four years since we first heard about it. But since that time Warner Bros. lost confidence in the film, and eventually sold it to Netflix. In the acquisition Netflix obtained a film with a hell of a cast, which includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys, Naomie Harris, and Serkis, all joining young Rohan Chand, who plays the title character. Now Netflix has released their own official trailer for the movie, now titled Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, and you can check it out below along with a synopsis for the movie.

| D23 Expo 2015: ‘The Jungle Book’: A Live Twist On An Animated Classic |
 |

Disney’s recent turn to modernize their animated classics by giving them a live-action adaptation has been a successful product thus far. With Maleficent and Cinderella already proving to be box office hits, the studio shows no signs of slowing down, by releasing more of these adaptations. Perhaps the most interesting of all the adaptations would be The Jungle Book. Now, it’s not interesting in a perplexing manner, but in how they approached the production of the film. The adaptation combines live-action and CGI to form a beautiful story, based on the animated film and Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel. During the film’s presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, today, director Jon Favreau talked about the production of The Jungle Book, with his cast Ben Kingsley, who voices Bagheera; Lupita Nyong’O, who voices the protective mother wolf Raksha; and newcomer Neel Sethi, who plays the human lead Mowgli. More on the production of the film as well as description of the footage here below.

| ‘The Hobbit’ Star Andy Serkis To Direct ‘The Jungle Book’ For Warner Brothers
Yes, you read that headline correctly. Andy Serkis, the actor best known for his performance capture work in movies like The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies as Gollum, King Kong as Kong (and also in the non-performance capture role of Lumpy), Rise of the Planet of the Apes as Caesar, and The Adventures of Tintin as Captain Haddock, has been hired to direct a live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book for Warner Brothers. If the project sounds familiar, it’s because Walt Disney is also doing their own competing live-action take on the story they turned into the 1967 animated classic. That version will be directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Elf) and star Idris Elba as the villainous tiger Shere Khan.
