DC Vertigo Lucifer

A deal has been reached between Fox and Warner Bros. TV for a pilot order for a Lucifer television series after a lengthy negotiation that had resulted in a put-pilot order back in September.

Fox has ordered the pilot, which will be directed by Len Wiseman, who will also executive produce, according to THR, which added that Jerry Bruckheimer has come on as executive producer along with members from his Jerry Bruckheimer Television team.

Neil Gaiman's The Sandman

While an adaptation of The Sandman, Neil Gaiman‘s popular Vertigo comic book series, has been through many stages of development over the years, it seems now that a big-screen version will finally happen, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and David S. Goyer producing for Warner Brothers and Gaiman being involved in the process.

But who will play the title character, Dream aka Morpheus aka the Lord of Dreams, one of The Endless?

DC Vertigo Lucifer

We were teased for year with the prospect of a television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s DC/Vertigo Comics series Sandman, but that eventually turned into plans for a big screen adaptation. Now, a character from the Sandman universe will be making its way to the small screen from Warner Bros. TV and FOX for DC Entertainment.

FOX has committed to producing a “put pilot” for Lucifer, DC/Vertigo’s Sandman spin-off comic book series written by Mike Carey (Unwritten, Hellblazer), according to Deadline. Tom Kapinos, creator/executive producer for Californication, along with Warner Bros. TV — the company behind all the DC universe television projects (including the upcoming Batman prequel series Gotham) — are behind the pilot.

Justice League Header Image

At first glance Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice looked like it was only going to be about the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel. But as we can see based on the subtitle, it’s going to be more than just about the two heroes. For one thing, Gal Gadot has a role as Wonder Woman, as does Ray Fisher who will play Victor Stone aka Cyborg. Given that Gadot is in a three-picture deal, it’s really no surprise that she will be getting her own movie as well as have a role in Justice League. But where does it all fit on the schedule? Dawn of Justice isn’t due out for another year and half, and what about the other heroes? Where do they fit into all of this.

Well a new rumor has popped up, and it reveals that not only does Warner Bros have a schedule laid out for the DC Cinematic Universe, but they have plans laid out until 2018. Sure that may not be as expansive as Marvel Studios who has plans up until 2018, but it is a start, and if successful, WB may be able to finally catch up with their rival. Hit the jump to see what the studio has planned for us.
