The $10 t-shirt deal of the day over at RIPT Apparel is a Firefly-themed shirt called “Serenate Cerveza” by apalooza.

The sale at RIPT began today, Monday, August 20, 2012, at midnight CST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore.

With San Diego Comic-Con’s Firefly 10th anniversary reunion panel now wrapped up (watch the panel here below), we all know pretty much exactly what we did prior to it happening: Creator Joss Whedon loves this property possibly more than anything else he’s done to this point in his career.

The panel itself was set up by The Science Channel, which has been airing the 13-episode series on the cable network to great success. It’s even planning to do a special feature video that’ll air later this year.

Towards the end of the panel, Whedon made a heartfelt speech to fans that seemed to indicate that there’s more than a glimmer of hope left for the series to once again take shape on the big screen beyond the new Dark Horse comic book series coming later this year.

This year’s San Diego Comic-Con convention is still a couple of weeks off, but already geeks who will be in attendance have something special to look forward to.

For the first time ever, Firefly will be making its way to Comic-Con 2012.

Don’t get too excited, however—it’s not to announce the show’s return or anything along those lines. The panel is to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the fan-favorite sci-fi western, which was canceled far too soon an immensely fast-moving decade ago. It will be held on Friday, July 13 at 12:30 p.m. in Ballroom 20.
