Universal Pictures has released the second trailer for The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Annabelle Wallis, and Russell Crowe. While the first trailer was focused on all the action, this new trailer gives us a little more context as to why this particular mummy is evil and what she intends to do now that is has been brought back to life, thanks in no small part to some curious people who accidentally found the sarcophagus. | ‘The Mummy’ Behind The Scenes Featurette Sees Tom Cruise Boarding The Vomit Comet
Now that Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Alex Kurtzman‘s The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise, it’s time to answer some of those lingering questions we may have about the film. No, not about the shared Monsters universe that the studio is creating, but on how they shot that gravity-defying scene that sees Cruise and co-star Annabelle Wallis twisting and turning in a plane. As it turns out, this wasn’t CGI or done on a soundstage. This was real and shot in an aircraft, appropriately called The Vomit Comet. Watch the featurette here below.

| ‘The Mummy’ Trailer: Tom Cruise Meets Terrifying Gods and Monsters
The popularity of a shared universe is undeniable. Disney has their Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Warner Bros. has the DC Extended Universe. Both studios use comic book source materials to expand and grow their superhero franchises. This doesn’t leave much for other studios. But in the case for Universal, they have their classic monster movies at their disposal. So, in order to keep up with the competition, they are launching a shared Monsters universe, and it will all kick off with Alex Kurtzman‘s The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Star Trek Beyond) The film’s first trailer dropped during Sunday night’s episode of The Walking Dead. | First Look At Universal’s ‘The Mummy’ Reboot (Video)
For those who are unaware, Universal Pictures is in the process of rebooting their Classic Monsters franchise with an Avengers-style shared universe. The first movie in this reboot of the monsters is The Mummy. Directed by Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, Fringe), the movie stars Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll, and Kingsman: The Secret Service star Sofia Boutella as the new mummy. The first trailer for the movie is coming very soon, and Universal has released a brief first taste of what the movie will look like to build excitement for the trailer’s release.
