My First Visit To Pixar and ‘Toy Story 4’ Footage Reaction

As a reporter, I have opportunities to visit animation studios and get a sneak preview of their upcoming films. It’s an exciting experience to step foot in these studios, to see such their rich histories and marvel at the legacy they are creating. But there’s nothing like visiting Pixar Animation Studios. When one gets an invite to go there, it’s hard to say no. So I was caught off guard when said invite came. Needless to say, I immediately said yes.
As a Pixar fan, I was going to enjoy every single moment and every single second of being on their campus in Emeryville, CA. It goes without saying that it was a life-changing experience. And so, after all the flights and getting settled into the hotel, I joined a group of journalists to take a look at the Pixar campus to see what Toy Story 4 is all about. More on this and reaction to the footage we were shown, below.

By the end of the weekend at this year’s Oscars, one of eight nominated films will be added to an eternal list of Academy Award-winning Best Pictures. This year’s nominees run the gamut of genres. There are two films detailing modern scandals (Spotlight, The Big Short), two “based on true story†historical set pieces (Bridge of Spies, The Revenant), one little international indie film (Brooklyn), a deep emotionally wrenching drama (Room), a film about someone lost in space… again (The Martian), and a kick ass action thrill ride (Mad Max: Fury Road). Are these the actual best films of 2015? Well, that depends on personal preference and opinion. Based on box office, this year’s nominees weren’t close to being the most popular films. Only one — The Martian — finished in the top 10 grossing films of the year, and only three total were in the top 21.
So if the eight nominees aren’t your cup of tea, here are the Top 10 films of 2015 NOT nominated for Best Picture…

Oscars 2016: Predictions For The Acting Awards Categories
|
 |

On Sunday night, Hollywood will get together for its biggest party of the year, the 88th Annual Academy Awards, otherwise known as the Oscars. The night promises laughs, shocks, and plenty of controversy as for the second straight year all 20 acting nominees are white. With comedian Chris Rock hosting, expect some jabs directed at the Academy.
I love the Oscars, even when I hate them. Movies are my passion and the biggest night in movies has become a holiday akin to the Super Bowl. Every year, I try earnestly to see all the films nominated for top honors, and I went over and beyond this year. Not only did I watch all 8 nominated films, but I watched 19 of the 20 of the ranked Oscar performances (sorry Charlotte Rampling). Since this is my first of several Oscars 2016 columns to come, I thought it best to start in the same way the big show begins… no sorry, not with a huge musical number. Nearly every year, they open the awards distribution with a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Last year, JK Simmons accepted his trophy for playing the deliciously malicious orchestra leader in Best Pic nominee Whiplash. Simmons, much more resigned than his ferocious role as Fletcher, encouraged everyone to call their moms.
So without further ado, let’s introduce the Best Supporting Actor and Actress nominees, and then move on to the Best Actor and Actress nominees. I’ll tell you who will likely will win… but more importantly, who I think should win.

2016 Golden Globes Winners: The Revenant, The Martian, Mr. Robot

The 73rd Annual Golden Globes ceremony broadcast live tonight from Beverly Hills, CA, has come to a close, so it’s time to take a look at the winners of the evening.
In film, The Revenant took home the most Globes, with wins for Best Director (Alejandro González Iñárritu), Best Actor Drama (Leonardo DiCaprio), and Best Picture Drama. Steve Jobs snagged two — — Best Actress Drama for Kate Winslet and Best Screenplay for Aaron Sorken, as did Ridley Scott’s The Martian, a fantastic film that won for Best Picture Comedy (even though it’s so not a comedy), with its lead star, Matt Damon, grabbing the Best Actor Comedy award.
In television, Mr. Robot and Mozart in the Jungle took the lead with two Globes each.
Check out the full list of 2016 Golden Globe winners here below.

Steve Jobs
Director: Danny Boyle
Screenwriter: Aaron Sorkin

Universal Pictures
Rated R | 121 Minutes
Release Date: October 9, 2015 LA & NY | October 23, 2015 Nationwide
When Steve Jobs was alive, it was hard to imagine a world without the inspirational inventor introducing us to one of his latest Apple product, yet somehow the tech giant’s legacy is still going strong four years after his passing. Jobs wasn’t exactly open about his life, thus making it hard to figure out the man behind the machines. Director Danny Boyle‘s Steve Jobs, from Aaron Sorkin outstanding screenplay adapted from the 2011 biography, as well as his own interviews, gives the world a way to get to know who Steve Jobs is, and how he saw the world.
Steve Jobs isn’t your traditional biopic. It’s broken into three major events in Jobs’ life all taking place 30 minutes in real time before the product launches of LISA, the NeXT, and iMac. And what makes it all captivating is the fact that in those three 30-minute pre-launches, we get to see a man who is clearly the smartest person in the room reveal himself to be a vulnerable yet headstrong man with a clear vision of bringing technology to the masses while creating a legacy that only a few could ever dream of.
