| ‘The Big 4’ Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax As An 8-Bit Video Game
The gang at Loudwire teamed up with the folks over at Filthy Frackers to create a video of a “what if” NES-style 8-bit video game featuring the thrash metal giants of The Big 4 – Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The 83-second 8-bit animated video with chiptune audio features Metallica’s “One,” including scenes from the video of the band members as well as the footage from the Johnny Got His Gun movie; Slayer’s “Raining Blood” (with the band in a live performance sequence); Megadeth’s “Sweating Bullets,” which showcases frontman Dave Mustaine’s multiple personalities from the video; and Anthrax’s “Madhouse,” with zany footage from that music video, as well as guest appearances from retro gaming characters. Watch the video here below.

| Watch Footage From The Big 4 Metal Concert At Yankee StadiumIf you follow me on Twitter [@eveofdoom] then you know I spent a very headbanging day at Yankee Stadium in New York at The Big 4 metal concert back on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. For an old-school metalhead like me, seeing Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax share a concert bill is a dream come true, and this 7-hour metal extravaganza did not disappoint. Metallica recently released an official 30-minute video with behind-the-scenes footage and sound check, as well as their performance of “Blackened” (complete with lots of fire and laser-show action) and the encore jam of Motorhead’s “Overkill” including members of all four bands. Watch it here below.

| What If The Big 4 Metal Tour Was The Big 8?Metal Sucks posed a question this week: If The Big Four were The Big 8, which bands would be the next four in the group? If you’re unaware, The Big 4 Tour is comprised of thrash metal giants Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The tour is scheduled to arrive in just one city this April in the United States, much to the dismay of metalheads across the nation who wanted the tour to hit more cities. I’ve seen some reactions from fans who aren’t in total agreement with this touring line-up, stating that not every band on the bill fits the “Big 4” mold. I happened to think it’s a great bill, but I’ve wondered what other bands would fit nicely on this tour. So, if The Big 4 Tour was actually The Big 8 Tour, what four additional bands do you think deserve to be on it? Check out my picks below and let me know what yours would be.

| WTF? The Big 4 To Play A Small 1: Only One U.S. Show Announced |

Metal fans and followers will remember that yesterday we posted news that The Big 4 (meaning Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer) would be making a major announcement today via their Facebook page regarding a U.S. tour dates. Everybody assumed, justifiably so, that it would be the announcement of a major Big 4 U.S. tour. Boy, were we way off, and the resulting rampage of fury and anger from metalheads across the country should make the so-called Big 4 hang their heads in shame! It turns out that the “major” announcement was that the 4 bands would be playing a show. That’s “a” show. As in one. Singular. Uno. The Big 4 will be playing their one show in Indio, California on April 23, 2011, at the Empire Polo Club and… Wait, what? A club? The Empire Polo Club doesn’t seem to have seating charts in many places in the short Google search I did, but one report I found mentioned a capacity of no more than 1,000*. I cannot vouch for the reliability and accuracy of that information, but if there is any validity to it, why choose such a lame venue for one show?
