Empire 30th Artwork Collection: "I Love You...I Know"I love you… I know.

Does this have any significance to you?

Yes? Cool, because you’ll love this new limited edition art print currently being sold exclusively through the official Star Wars Shop.

Artist Amy Beth Christenson, of LucasArts, created this piece titled “I Love You…I Know” and it’s the ninth of twelve prints in a special monthly limited art collection to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.

The artwork captures the scene from Empire in the carbon-freezing chamber between Han Solo and Princess Leia as they are about to kiss, just before Han is lowered into the carbonite. In one of the greatest lines in the film, and without a doubt, one of the most memorable romantic parting words on screen, Leia finally confesses her love for Han. “I love you,” Leia tells Han. And this scoundrel’s reply? “I know.”

A wonderful aspect of this print is that not only do we get Han and Leia at the forefront, but behind the doomed lovers stand Chewbacca with the dismantled C-3PO on his back on the left, with Darth Vader and Boba Fett on the right.

Wait, What? Han Solo Was Supposed To Die In ‘Return Of The Jedi’ But George Lucas Changed It To Make More Money

The Movie God   |  @   |

Look, it’s no secret that George Lucas has always been all about the money; the man is a marketing genius and he’s made billions of dollars from his films’ many different toys, collectibles, and various merchandising strategies. Many fans of his movies have even gone on to become foes, livid at the obvious evisceration of some of his properties in order to make a little (OK, a whole hell of a lot of) extra money.

If that weren’t all enough, what if I were to tell you that the entire Star Wars saga was outlined and mapped out with a storyline that ended much differently than you’ve always known it? And what if I added to that that the reason these paths were altered was for the sake of future merchandising and toy sales?

Deep breathes now. Take a seat and gather your senses for a few moments, then click on over to read the full details from the mouth of producer Gary Kurtz.

Watch Now: Every Lightsaber Ignition and Retraction In The ‘Star Wars’ Saga

Jedi of Doom   |

With Star Wars Celebration V around the corner and this being the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, we here at Geeks of Doom were looking for something on the web that celebrated one of our favorite film franchises of all time. What we found was a video that shows every lightsaber being powered up and powered down throughout the six main Star Wars films.

Watch the video “Every Lightsaber Ignition & Retraction” here below!

The video starts off with the lightsaber ignitions from the original trilogy and moves on to the prequel trilogy, the video does the same thing when it comes to the lightsaber retractions except in reverse order (prequels first).

The video’s creator stated that it took 6 hours to compile this video, which is only clips where you can see the lightsaber ignite/retract (not just hear it), and also where the lightsaber is intentionally ignited/retracted.

Video: What Would It Be Like To Have A Pet AT-AT From ‘Star Wars’?

The Movie God   |  @   |

What would it be like to have an AT-AT from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as a pet you ask? Well, allow us the opportunity to show you this!

The video is created by Patrick Boivin, who decided to make a short showing exactly what it would be like to have this little robotic pet, and it’s actually quite adorable. The AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) from the Star Wars universe are incredibly massive and would make horrible pets — imagine the cost of food alone — but a much smaller, puppy-sized AT-AT is just right.

The movie is pretty short, but well worth watching. Just the waste clean-up bit at the end makes the whole thing worth your time, I promise this.

Pick a cuddly name, purchase a Jedi chew toy for your new companion, and head on over to the other side to see the pet AT-AT video immediately!

Week of Geek: The Empire Strikes Back 30th Anniversary

Periodic Table of Empire Strikes Back ElementsWith last Friday being the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, there’s been a lot of Empire-related goodness spreading across the internet.

One particularly clever Empire-related find is The Periodic Table of Empire Strikes Back Elements created by the folks over at SciFiWire.

Check it out here at right, and click the image for the larger view.

The chart is a take on the Periodic Table of Elements — you know, the one they make you memorize in Chemistry class (remember K is Potassium; Na is Sodium and so on?).
