The second installment of The Hobbit is almost upon us!

Seven new character posters, featuring Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Legolas, Bard The Bowman, Thorin Oakenshield, Tauriel, and Thranduil, have been released for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, which is the follow-up to 2012’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Orlando Bloom, and many more. WB will release the film into theaters on December 13, 2013, with the final installment, There And Back Again, coming to theaters in 2014.

Some dragons are lovable, some are terrifying, but thanks to HBO’s Game Of Thrones and Peter Jackson’s upcoming The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug film, dragons are back are everyone’s radar.

On Tuesday morning, the new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug was released online.

Earlier that morning, the film’s stars Ian McKellen and Orlando Bloom made an appearance on NBC’s The Today Show to talk about the upcoming second installment in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy and to introduce a snippet from the trailer.

Earlier this summer, we saw the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, which saw the return of Orlando Bloom as the elf Legolas and introduced a new character, the female elf Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly).

This morning, Bloom and Ian McKellen (Gandalf) made an appearance on NBC’s Today Show to introduce a preview of a new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug. The trailer now been released online, so watch it here below!

In The Lord Of The Rings books, author J.R.R. Tolkien’s describes Bag End, the hobbit-hole home of Bilbo Baggins and his kin. The description inspired Chris Guise to recreate a miniature Bonsai landscape version of Bilbo’s home, and the end result is beautiful!
