Back in June horror streaming service Shudder announced a movie marathon called The Last Drive-In hosted by Joe Bob Briggs, and horror fans everywhere were elated. So elated, in fact, that Shudder wasn’t prepared for the response. When the 24-ish-hour marathon arrived in July so many people tried to tune in that the streaming service broke down. But all is well. Anyone who missed any or all of the marathon can still watch it to this day, and now some more great new has arrived as a result of it.

Shudder has announced that because of the overwhelming response to The Last Drive-In, Joe Bob Briggs will be back for two holiday specials in the coming months. And not only that, but he’ll also be getting a shiny new ongoing series sometime in 2019. You can find more info on the news below.

The next Friday the 13th is going to be one to remember for horror movie fans as Joe Bob Briggs, America’s preeminent drive-in critic and expert on the sleaziest and looniest B-movies ever made, brings The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs to the horror streaming service Shudder.

For 24 straight hours beginning on Friday July 13, Briggs will screen 13 of the greatest horror flicks of all time in what he describes in the newly released trailer (which you can watch here below) as a “dusk to dawn to dusk to almost dawn again” marathon.
