Ten wildly diverse and eclectic records are available for free listens right now. Two that stand out from the pack are the newest record by synth-pop/light industrial/electro kings Depeche Mode, who have making records for over three decades now, and the 1980s-esque with a few tricks up their sleeve sonic musings of The Strokes.
The Depeche Mode album, titled Delta Machine — on sale March 26th — is summed up by their songwriter/guitarist Martin Gore as a kind of hybrid of arguably the band’s most popular records, Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion. On Delta Machine, with its cutting buzzsaw style guitar lines, heavy synths, and drum machines, which sport breathlessly complex yet accessible back beats and raw vocals by David Gahan, mixed with a shiny, ominously strong weight of a production, should satisfy the hardcore fans who have following the band for years and might even get a few new converts to the band in the process.
