Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

If you haven’t seen Tucker & Dale vs. Evil yet, you’re missing out on an extremely entertaining horror-comedy with plenty of big laughs and all the ooey-gooey carnage you’d expect from a slasher flick (watch the trailer here). The indie movie never really had a chance to shine for worldwide audiences on the biggest stage, but enjoys a faithful cult following thanks to home video, streaming services like Netflix (where you can still watch it right now; go on then!), and on demand.

It’s been four years now since the movie was first released, and while fans have surely asked about a sequel, not much has come of it. Not until now. At a recent horror convention, stars Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine were talking about the movie when they announced that producers want to make Tucker & Dale vs. Evil 2.

You can watch a video of the pair making the announcement below.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

A new poster has been created for the indie horror–comedy, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. The poster comes from comic book artist Tony Moore, who’s worked on everything from Punisher, Ghost Rider, and Venom, as well as The Walking Dead, which has nabbed him two Eisner Award nominations.

The movie tells the story of Tucker and Dale (Firefly‘s Alan Tudyk and Reaper‘s Tyler Labine), two hillbillies who are on vacation at their secluded mountain house in the middle of the woods. When a group of preppy college kids come to their area as for a getaway, they automatically assume Tucker and Dale are dangerous serial killer types. But when one of their friends has an accident and Tucker and Dale try and help, the kids’ assumptions of their murderous intent only grows, which only leads to messy consequences.

A new poster has been released for the indie horror–comedy Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. The movie stars Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Transformers: Dark of the Moon) and Tyler Labine (Reaper, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) as a couple of hillbillies who are mistaken for serial killers by a bunch of college kids who have seen far too many horror movies.

As you could see in the trailer, the movie is right along the same lines as other popular horror–comedies such as Shaun of the Dead, Slither, and Zombieland. It arrives in select theaters on September 30, 2011, but will also be available on video on demand services starting August 26. The two stars and director Eli Craig will also be making an appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic–Con convention.

You can see the new poster and read a more detailed synopsis for Tucker & Dale vs. Evil by clicking on over to the other side now!

Alan Tudyk

Some of the most-entertaining and just straight fun times that you can possibly have at a movie are the times that you go and see a good horror-comedy flick. There is no denying this. Movies like Shaun of the Dead, Slither, and (as it’s looking) the upcoming Zombieland all offer a unique mixture of laughter and fear that without a doubt leaves you with a warm smile on your face after viewing; the experience is almost medicinal.

Now comes word that a brand new indie horror-comedy movie called Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is on the way, and its stars already have us sold on the movie’s potential! Firefly‘s own pilot Alan Tudyk will play Tucker, while Dale will be played by Tyler Labine, who is best known as Sock on the despicably-canceled Reaper (Read: “˜Reaper’ Canceled: The CW Decides It Wants To Be Just Like Fox When It Grows Up).
