Some of the most-entertaining and just straight fun times that you can possibly have at a movie are the times that you go and see a good horror-comedy flick. There is no denying this. Movies like Shaun of the Dead, Slither, and (as it’s looking) the upcoming Zombieland all offer a unique mixture of laughter and fear that without a doubt leaves you with a warm smile on your face after viewing; the experience is almost medicinal.
Now comes word that a brand new indie horror-comedy movie called Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is on the way, and its stars already have us sold on the movie’s potential! Firefly‘s own pilot Alan Tudyk will play Tucker, while Dale will be played by Tyler Labine, who is best known as Sock on the despicably-canceled Reaper (Read: “˜Reaper’ Canceled: The CW Decides It Wants To Be Just Like Fox When It Grows Up).
The movie follows Tucker and Dale, two rednecks who discover a rundown cabin near a lake and claim it as their very own summer home. One day, your typical horror movie group of college kids who are visiting the lake stumble into some scary stuff and decide to accuse Tucker and Dale of being vicious, evil killers.
The movie is directed by Eli Craig, who is the son of actress Sally Field and so far has only helmed one other movie: The Tao of Pong. It also stars 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden, presumably as one of the rascally college kids.
I don’t know anything about this movie, but with the silly and fun premise and Tudyk and Labine in the lead roles, I’m already excited for it. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is already filming in Canada, so hopefully more goodies will be raining down periodically!

Hell yeah, with Tudyk on board this movie is definitely a must watch!
