
Since the start of the HBO fantasy drama Game Of Thrones, fans of the television show have been trying to figure out how its fictional continent of Westeros relates to our lands on Earth. Most people assume that Westeros lines up more with Europe, but what if author George R.R. Martin‘s world was in the United States of America? The folks over at College Humor drew up a map of the U.S. and renamed the States for the lands in Westeros.
The map, titled The United States Of Westeros, obviously shows our neighbors to the North, Canada (you wouldn’t believe how people playing Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? don’t know this), with its vast areas of frozen wasteland, as the area Beyond The Wall, while Washington, D.C. retains its status as the Capitol and political stronghold as Kings Landing. Apparently, I would live in Casterly Rock, the financial center, and Chicago becomes Harrenhal, a place where no one is able to rule for too long.
