The international press tour for Into The Woods is currently in progress, and with the film being a commercial success, journalists are asking producer Marc Platt about his next projects.

One of those projects is a big-screen adaptation of Wicked, which has Stephen Daldry attached to direct and Winnie Holzman penning the script. The musical is actually based on the book of the same name, and focuses on the events before The Wizard of Oz, before Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West. Platt hopes to get the film into theaters by 2016, which would mean that he would need to get the project into production sooner rather than later.
