On last night’s Saturday Night Live, which was hosted by Russell Brand, there was a totally hilarious video short called “British Movie,” which had Bill Hader in the lead role in a film called Don’ You Go Rounin’ Roun to Re Ro. The short is actually a trailer for the made-up British action film, which has critics raving things like “British” and “Extremely British.”
This trailer is a spoof on Guy Ritchie movies like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and other British action films, and if you’ve seen these types of movies, then you already know you can’t understand half the dialogue, even though it’s in English.
Watch the trailer here below for Don’ You Go Rounin’ Roun to Re Ro’, “a can’t-miss British film, if you like movies you cannot understand.”
One of my favorite parts of the voice-over narration are the quotes from Time magazine about turning on subtitles and from Pat Travers about the killing.
At the end of the video is a URL for the movie, which is actually active and is a splash page for the film, touting its various film festival selections. Once on the page, if you click to view the trailer it redirects you to the SNL video page.
