Never one to keep quiet, Bruce Campbell has yet again taken to Twitter to reveal another bit of news. The actor has revealed that he will indeed be joining the cast of his partner in crime Sam Raimi‘s next film Oz: The Great And Powerful in a yet to be disclosed role.
Campbell tweeted: I. Am. In. Oz. Sam Raimi refuses to tell me what character I will portray. Just know that the role is PIVOTAL.
The film is led by Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and James Franco, the latter of whom takes on the titular role, who goes from snake oil salesman to member of a magic world controlled by witches. Disney is behind the project, which is slated to bow next year.
Now, while a prequel to a classic like The Wizard Of Oz does seem a bit odd, I think that this could be quite an interesting film. Raimi is a fantastic director, and with this great cast, it’s going to be hard for the studio to really go wrong. Hopes are immensely high for this project, so here’s to hoping it can live up to all of its potential.
