Marvel’s Daredevil series on Netflix was a big hit back in April, so it’s no surprise that we’ll be getting a Season 2 and with the addition of Elektra!
While we have to wait for the second season to launch next year, we are now getting a peek at the Man With No Fear’s new suit!
An image of the updated suit was posted to Twitter today by the official Daredevil account with the caption “The suit makes the man.” The image shows the costume and you can see there’s more black throughout, as well as a helmet, inside a box with his white cane for the blind right outside it. Also, the Manufacture New York account posted a photo of Daredevil costume designer Stephanie Maslansky’s new creation being modeled at this month’s Sourcing at Magic trade show in Las Vegas. Check out the images here below (image at top is from Season 1).
Season 1 of Marvel’s Daredevil ran 13 episodes, and it wasn’t til near the end that we got to see blind lawyer turned vigilante Matt Murdock don the iconic red suit.
The second season will see the return of Charlie Cox as the title superhero, along with Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, and Rosario Dawson also reprising their roles. The Walking Dead‘s Jon Bernthal will appear as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, “a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results” with Elodie Yung (G.I. JOE: Retaliation) as Elektra, “a woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle.” Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will be taking over as showrunner for the new season, which started production last month in New York City’s East Harlem. All episodes of the second season will be launched on the same date on Netflix (as they do with all their shows) some time in 2016, most likely in April.

The biggest problem was the helmet and this new one almost seems worse. The eyes are strange. I like the body suit but the black on the face is bizarre. I dunno. The show is still good so no worries, I guess.

With the number of complaints they’ve gotten I’m surprised they haven’t made a total 180 on the mask. I’ve always thought of his mask as more of a cowl than a helpmet. Why does it have to look like a bad motorcycle helmet?

Those bug eyes are the worst though. Maybe it’s just a bad angle but they look way too big and without expression. I’ll wait to see more pictures but as of right now this looks like a fail to me.

Wonder if anyone is going to see Daredevil and think Deadpool now.

What is he supposed to do? He’s blind. He’s not Batman. You can’t see his eyes. He wears sunglasses as Matt. It doesn’t look nearly as bad as the whining suggests.

What is who supposed to do? The fictional character of Daredevil? Or the costume designer and producers of the TV show who make these decisions? Not sure what your point is.

That Matt made the suit. What do you want? Bad guys to make stupid jokes about who he’s talking to or to hide his eyes as blind people are more comfortable doing?
the complaints have been lame and ungrateful.

And I don’t. I don’t see how it looks so drastically different than the comic. Unless, of course, you think it’s so easy to make a costume based on a comic book character. Which, in that case, would explain how you have a perfect creation yourself.
