| Bytes: Star Trek, Superman, Mötley Crüe- You’ll be able to own a piece of STAR TREK history, as more than 4,000 pieces of memorabila from all five Trek series and the 10 movies go on the auction block at New York’s Christie’s in October. Items include Capt. Kirk and Capt. Picard’s uniforms, models of the USS Enterprise, phasers and prosthetics.
- It seems SUPERMAN RETURNS will need a record-breaking weekend to turn a profit — the Bryan Singer-directed movie is on pace to become the most expensive movier ever made with a budget quickly rising toward the $300 million mark.
- Metal group Mötley Crüe will be featured in the big-budget claymation spoof Disaster, in theaters in October. It’s already scheduled to be released on DVD in February.
- Kirsten Dunst might be joining Jack Black in the upcoming movie BE KIND REWIND. Black plays a man whose brain gets magnetized and somehow erases all the films in his friend’s video store, forcing them to try to remake the movies.
