- Have comics reached the level of respectability? MASTERS OF AMERICAN COMICS, the first major museum examination of the art form, will help to do just that. The landmark exhibit will be shown simultaneously at two locations — The Jewish Museum in New York City and The Newark Museum in Newark, New Jersey, from September 15, 2006 through January 28, 2007. The first half of the 20th century will be on view at the Newark Museum and works from the 1950s to the present will be at The Jewish Museum. The Jewish Museum will focus on such artists as Jack Kirby, Will Eisner, R. Crumb, and Harvey Kurtzman.
- The second season of the British series DOCTOR WHO will begin airing in the U.S. on September 29 on the Sci Fi Channel. [Link]
- Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins) will direct a film version of the classic British TV series THE PRISONER. [Link]
- That HALO movie, based on the popular video game, has a director and screenwriter. Alex Garland (The Beach) will write the script and Neill Blomkamp will direct his first feature, which is expected in theaters in 2008.
- The first volume DVD of season one of the THE ADDAMS FAMILY will be released October 24. [Link]
